You hear the words,
"You LOOK great".
You RECEIVE the words,
and for a fleeting moment you
FEEL great.
Yet deep inside
you know that
LOOKING great
doesn't make you FEEL great
for very long,
because
LOOKING great has no power to change
your heart
that is LOOKING for so much more.
And then you hear the words, "But a woman who
FEARS THE LORD
[reverently worshiping, obeying, serving, and trusting HIM with awe-filled respect], she shall be praised" (Psalm 31:30).
And your heart gets full.
And you want to be THAT woman.
And men, you are not left out,
as when you hear the words,
"How blessed is the man who FEARS THE LORD,
Who greatly delights in HIS commandments" (Psalm 112:1),
oh how you want to be THAT man
and be BLESSED.
So there it is.
We all want it.
And it begins with FEAR.
The FEAR OF THE LORD.
The GOOD kind of FEAR
that a manly man practiced
to a point that he would even kill his own son.
But as Abraham held the knife
above his son Isaac,
who he tied down to be a living sacrifice,
Abraham heard
the voice of the angel of LORD~
“Abraham! Abraham!,
“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said.
“Do not do anything to him.
Now I know that you FEAR GOD,
because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son” (Genesis 22:11-12).
Did you read that?
Because of Abraham's
GOOD FEAR,
his FEAR OF THE LORD,
he was willing to OBEY GOD
to the point of killing his own son.
Yikes!
Oh BLESSED is ABRAHAM,
beyond the number of the stars that twinkled in the sky.
Yet it took
THE OBEDIENCE
to
BELIEVE in the absurdity of what GOD was asking.
Could you? Would you?
Oh I would be a doubting Thomas,
as I would shout out to the
LORD,
"Not my son, LORD
Ask me to do anything else, but not my son".
Would I have forgotten that
GOD is a LOVING GOD.
Would I have forgotten that
GOD so LOVES that
HE did sacrifice HIS SON
for you & me & everyone else.
GOD knows the pain of sacrifice
as HIS SON wore it
and GOD allowed it.
Why?
Because the SACRIFICE was the only way
to get ALL GOD'S kids
back to where they ALL belong~
ALL HIS!
Has your FAITH been pushed to a place
of total SURRENDER
that you don't understand why GOD
would allow you to be pushed to a place of
total SURRENDER
that HE is asking you to
TRUST HIM so deeply
with ____________,
that you don't know why
or you don't know how
you could
SURRENDER the ________
because your FEAR is so great?
BUT then you remember
TO FEAR THE LORD
is the answer.
TO FEAR THE LORD~
TO TRUST HIM so deeply with _______
because
GOD said,
"My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways MY ways” (Isaiah 55:8).
Oh let's
LIVE FEARFUL
and
OVERCOME FEAR
by
FEARING THE LORD
and
put your name where it belongs~
"I, _________, TRUST YOU"
