Day 17: Blind Sight
Have you ever played the game
Blind Man's Bluff~
TRUSTING the one who is guiding you
Follow the Leader~
FOLLOWING the one who is leading you
LISTENING to the one who is calling your name?
Well I did
& I would cheat
when playing Marco Polo~
not only because I didn't want to smash my head into the side of the pool,
because I was swimming with my eyes closed,
but also because I wanted to win.
CHEATING TO WIN!
Does that mean I really would be the winner
playing BLIND Games of TRUST?
The BLIND man
Whose eyes JESUS touched and asked~
“Do you see anything?”*
The BLIND man responded~
“I see people; they look like trees walking around.”*
The BLIND man~
still focused on his blurred vision instead of
on the ONE who made him see.
JESUS had to touch him a second time~
"Once more JESUS put HIS hands on the man’s eyes.
Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly"* (Mark 8)
No longer seeing trees!
This wasn't a game
He was BLIND and now he SEES.
Life isn't a game.
I was BLIND
because I was so focused on
on what I could SEE~
cheating myself through life
by TRUSTING other things to help me SEE.
But now I SEE
because I reached out and touched the
Who SEES beyond the trees
Who takes me beyond my blurred vision
so that HE continues to UNLEASH me
into a world where I SEE HIM
beyond the trees.
TRUSTING what you can SEE and not WHO you can't~
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen,
since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:18)
What "tree" BLINDS you from seeing and experiencing all Who JESUS is?
"For we live by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7)
"FAITH SEES BEST IN THE DARK" (listen to the song below)
