Today I celebrate a woman on her birthday.
who was there for me from the moment
I said YES TO JESUS.
I entered her home
for my very first bible study.
Oh afraid, yes as I had no idea what to expect.
There she was with a smile that was uncontainable.
As I sat in her living room
there they all were~
all "normal" women,
as I didn't know what BIBLE loving people looked like.
Hmm. They looked like me & you & everyone else.
And from the moment I opened THE BOOK with these women
WORDS jumped off the pages like I have never read before.
Because they were more than WORDS as they were LIVING~
as they pierced my wounded heart,
filling every nook & cranny,
I absorbed them like a sponge.
That was 27 years ago.
Because of the GRACE of this precious woman
who would meet with me one and one
to share her love of JESUS~
as it was never about her
because it was always about HIM.
We memorized scripture together,
which are more than just WORDS,
as I continue to repeat them
touching my heart
in different places & spaces
as HIS WORDS always do
through my different ages & stages.
Just because this woman~
MARIAN~
who GOD for knitted her together in her mother's womb
poured out into me what GOD has poured into her.
I thank you MARIAN for speaking TRUTH into my life
and for making me fall in LOVE with JESUS & HIS WORD~
just because you so LOVE JESUS
that HIS WORD
just flows from your heart organically.
From HIS mouth to your mouth that she passed onto me,
I will pass them back to her & to you & to everyone else~
"The LORD your GOD is with you, HE is mighty to save. HE will take great delight in you, HE will quiet you with HIS love, HE will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah3:17)

and touch others with the touch that is everlasting~
