"So if the SON has set you FREE,
you will be FREE INDEED" (John 8:36).
To be FREE INDEED~
to do whatever you want to do when you do it
and be whomever you want to be.
To be FREE INDEED~
if it feels good, then do it.
To be FREE INDEED~
to be truly INDEPENDENT.
Hmm.
So why doesn't everyone FOLLOW JESUS,
because to be
FREE INDEED sounds pretty awesome.
Hmm.
To be FREE is one thing,
but then there is
"INDEED".
The catch.
The FREE COST.
That is FREE for everyone.
To be FREE from actually
doing whatever you want to do when you want to
and to be whomever you want to be.
So maybe just maybe
being FREE isn't FREE at all.
It sounds more like being a slave.
It sounds more like losing yourself.
It sounds like you are being watched 24/7.
Now is that being INDEPENDENT?
To LOSE yourself in order to gain back yourself~
"Then JESUS said to HIS disciples,
'If anyone wishes to follow ME [as MY disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests],
and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and
follow ME [believing in ME, conforming to MY example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in ME]'" (Matthew 16:24 AMP).
It sounds more like FREELY giving up
what you want to do when you want to and
being who you want to be.
Now is that being INDEPENDENT?
Oh yes INDEED!
To be INDEPENDENTLY DEPENDENT ON JESUS
will COST you your LIFE.
Your EVERLASTING LIFE.
It sounds like it is more of a giving up yourself
then a gaining of more of yourself.
Oh yes INDEED~
"And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
Is anything worth more than your soul?" (Matthew 16:26).
Less of me and more of HIM~
"HE must become greater; I must become less” (John 3:30).
Oh how so many run the other way
from being
FREE INDEED.
Isn't that what Eve did in the garden?
To be FREE to eat whatever appeared pleasing to her eye,
so she ate the one thing that GOD had told her to FREELY not eat.
Oh FREE WILL gets in the way,
and maybe because
FREE WILL is FREE INDEED.
Hmm.
But I wouldn't have it any other way,
even though it has COST me my life.
I can't be INDEPENDENTLY DEPENDENT on myself
even though it sounds so FREEING,
but only for a moment
to do what I want to do when I want to
and to be who I want to be when I want to.
To FREELY give up yourself
to the ONE
who knows you way better than yourself.
Oh to be
FREE INDEED
by FREELY following JESUS~
"My ego is no longer central.
It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion,
and I am no longer driven to impress GOD. CHRIST lives in me.
The life you see me living is not mine, but it is lived by faith in the
SON OF GOD, who loved me and gave HIMSELF for me" (Galatians 2:20).
