There is a KNOCK at the door.
You can't see who it is.
But you open the door
and there
HE IS~
JESUS!
THE ONE who you BELIEVE IN
or
THE ONE who you don't BELIEVE IN
or
THE ONE who you really haven't given HIM a thought
about whether you BELIEVE or don't BELIEVE IN HIM.
BUT there HE IS~
JESUS!
Close your eyes and think about it.
Really think about it.
How would you feel?
What would you do?
How would seeing HIS FACE change
whatever you were feeling or doing right before
HE KNOCKED?
I know what I would do.
I would fall on my knees
and become speechless
and then with a sigh of relief
I would utter the words,
"YOU REALLY ARE REAL!".
For even though
I know JESUS IS REAL.
&
even though
I know JESUS SAVED MY LIFE.
&
even though
I know I BELIEVE IN HIM,
it is in those times of discouragement
when
DOUBT
strives to overtake my
BELIEF,
I want to
SEE HIS FACE.
I want JESUS to
give me a high five
to tell me I am on the right path and
to keep
"...straining forward to what lies ahead..."
and to
"press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of GOD"
that is
"in CHRIST JESUS" (Phil. 4).
Hmm.
But obviously I BELIEVE that JESUS IS REAL
or I wouldn't be asking HIM to show HIS FACE,
because who asks someone to show
HIS FACE
if they don't believe HE EXISTS?
Oh the wavering of FAITH when LIFE starts to waver.
BUT
right at the place of craving more of
JESUS
there is always a
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK.
And I open the door.
But it isn't JESUS.
It is actually a
someone or a something
or a supernatural feeling that takes over my heart
that transcends all my understanding.
Because there
HE IS
dressed as
A GOD APPOINTMENT
of JESUS revealing HIMSELF
through another,
through a circumstance that only GOD could create
so that
my heart becomes so overwhelmed with
HIS PRESENCE
that
HE is showering me
with
HIS GIFT of GRACE,
HIS GIFT of FAVOR,
HIS GIFT of BLESSINGS.
And then I hear HIS soft whisper
in the silence of my questioning
"WHERE ARE YOU GOD"
seconds of discouragement~
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the LORD your GOD will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
Oh
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
HE is always there.
HIS FACE for all to SEE
and all we have to do is
open the door
because
"SOMEONE'S AT THE DOOR"
(listen to the song below)
