Day 9: Answered Prayer
You reach for your
WEAPON.
The one that has the power to slay dragons.
You wonder if it still works.
Because the
SAME BATTLE is raging.
The SAME PRAYER
is still being PRAYED.
And it appears that nothing is changing.
You have exhausted all your other options.
So once again, you reach for your greatest weapon.
PRAYER.
You talk to GOD.
You don't edit your words.
You don't pretend everything is okay.
You don't hide what is in your heart.
Because GOD already knows.
And HE invites you to come anyway~
"PRAY without ceasing" (I Thessalonians 5:17).
So you PRAY~
"Be constant in prayer" (Romans 12:12).
So you PRAY AGAIN~
"Pray in the SPIRIT on all occasions" (Ephesians 6:18).
So you PRAY AGAIN.
And AGAIN.
And AGAIN.
Not because you are trying to convince GOD to care.
But because PRAYER keeps your heart close to HIS.
Because PRAYER is the moment you stop trying to fight the battle
in your own strength.
Hmm.
Because,
IT'S NOT ABOUT ME.
PRAYER says,
"GOD, I can't...but YOU can."
PRAYER
reminds me that the battle isn't mine to win.
It belongs to THE LORD.
For, "The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous person is able to accomplish much
when put into action and made effective by GOD" (James 5:16 AMP).
Does GOD hear you?
ALWAYS!
Is HE WORKING?
ALWAYS!
Is HE ANSWERING?
ALWAYS!
Sometimes HE changes the situation.
But, before anything else,
HE fills my heart with HIS PEACE~
And the peace of GOD, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in CHRIST JESUS" (Philippians 4:7).
So when you are leaning on your understanding,
and try to answer your own PRAYER,
PRAY!
Not because PRAYER changes GOD.
But because PRAYER changes the one who is PRAYING.
It reminds me that
IT'S NOT ABOUT ME.
It's about the GOD who hears.
The FATHER who loves.
The SAVIOR who intercedes.
The HOLY SPIRIT who helps me when I don't even have the words.
So...
what is your SAME PRAYER?
The one you have PRAYED over and over and over again.
Don't lose heart.
Don't stop PRAYING.
Not because you know how GOD will answer.
But because you know
WHO GOD IS!
And when you have JESUS,
you already have the ONE who walks
with you through every PRAYER
every battle, and every answer.
Because...
IT'S NOT ABOUT ME.
The battle isn't mine or yours.
The victory isn't mine or yours.
They both belong to
JESUS.
Therefore, keep
"PRAYING FOR THE SAME THING"
