Day 8: Perfectly Weak

Once Upon A Time ago when I became a CHRISTIAN

I placed expectations on myself

to be PERFECT~

because isn't that who

a CHRISTIAN is?

Once Upon A Time

because

I did become a

CHRISTIAN

others have put expectations on me

to be PERFECT~

because ins't that

who a CHRISTIAN is?

Once Upon A Time

when I became a CHRISTIAN

I cried out to

GOD

who clothed me

with

HIS SON'S PERFECTION

because

GOD

knows that

I can never be

&

you can never be

PEFECT.

Once Upon A Time

I gave up striving to be

PERFECT

the moment I realized that I

needed to be a CHRISTIAN

because

I needed a

PERFECT SAVIOR

to cover

IMPERFECT me

with

HIS PERFECTION

so that

HE

can be all that I can never be on my own

on my way in becoming all

who HE has created me to be~

"I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for CHRIST, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where GOD is beckoning us onward—to JESUS. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back" (Philippians 3:12-14)

Therefore,

WHEN I SAY I AM A CHRISTIAN

(©1988 Carol Wimmer. All Rights Reserved)

When I say, I am a Christian” I’m not shouting, “I’ve been saved!” I’m whispering, “I get lost sometimes That’s why I chose this way”

When I say, “I am a Christian” I don’t speak with human pride I’m confessing that I stumble – needing GOD to be my guide

When I say, “I am a Christian” I’m not trying to be strong I’m professing that I’m weak and pray for strength to carry on

When I say, “I am a Christian” I’m not bragging of success I’m admitting that I’ve failed and cannot ever pay the debt

When I say, “I am a Christian” I don’t think I know it all I submit to my confusion asking humbly to be taught

When I say, “I am a Christian” I’m not claiming to be perfect My flaws are far too visible but GOD believes I’m worth it

When I say, “I am a Christian” I still feel the sting of pain I have my share of heartache which is why I seek GOD'S name

When I say, “I am a Christian” I do not wish to judge I have no authority I only know I’m loved.

***

I love that I don't have it all together

and that I can't do life on my own

because fi I did then I would have never needed

JESUS.

"I can do all this through HIM who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13)

Oh "LORD I NEED YOU" (listen to the song below)
