Day 8: God Moments

She said it.

"Jojo, I talk about you everyday,

because I love you".

Her words pierced my heart.

I couldn't hold back the tears,

as these words were from

the heart of my 5 year old granddaughter.

And then she continued,

"When I hear the church bells I think of you.

I took a picture of the church for you,

because that is where GOD lives" .

Now I couldn't hold back the tears.

For she KNOWS my LOVE for GOD. 

For she KNOWS my LOVE for her.

For KNOWING goes deeper than KNOWING what your favorite color is.

As we continued to swing on the swings,

I never wanted this MOMENT to end.

Who ever wants such a pure uninterrupted MOMENT to ever end.

But maybe this wasn't an uninterrupted MOMENT,

as it was a GOD MOMENT,

a beautiful GIFT from HIM,

A GOD INTERRUPTION

that lasts forever.

A GOD INTERRUPTION

of pure BLESSINGS.

A GOD INTERRUPTION

to remind me that HE IS HERE.

HE HEARS our heart cries.

And HE ANSWERS in HIS TIMING

which is PERFECT,

when HE moves everything else out of the way

so that

HE gets the APPLAUSE. 

And when HE rains in your life,

you embrace every drop.

From sitting on a blanket

watching our grandson play soccer,

while I became like a child.

From our 6 year granddaughter,

braiding my hair.

From our 3 year old grandson

sporting his dad's favorite football team jersey

getting ready for the big game.

 From our 2 year old granddaughter

just being precious 2.

The THANK YOU GOD

moments,

when you are

so STILL,

so SURRENDERED

and LIVING IN THE MOMENT,

no matter what THE MOMENT. 

The clouds lifted for this MOMENT,

as GOD INTERRUPTED my life.

But GOD is ALWAYS INTERRUPTING our lives.

For GOD is IN

the painful moments,

the hurting moments,

the grieving moments,

the frustrating moments

the unknown moments,

and

the __________ moments,

but do we SEE HIM in those moments?

HE isn't the DARKNESS that sets upon you,

when things are not going your way.

HE isn't the DARKNESS that sets upon you,

when you are being treated unjustly.

HE isn't the DARKNESS that sets upon you,

when you are at the end of your rope

in utter HOPELESSNESS,

when you wonder

WHERE ARE YOU GOD?

Oh I KNOW those moments,

 as I am sure you KNOW them too,

as we are not exempt.

I don't like it when it appears

that all you see is the DARK.

Could it be that the DARK

 is an invitation to draw closer to GOD?

Could it be that the DARK times are the growing times?

Could it be that FAITH is the brightest when the lights go out?

I don't like the DARK,

but it is the place and space where GOD takes me so deep

into the bosom of HIS HEART

so that HE can be the main guest.

And when HE enters,

HE doesn't come alone.

JESUS is right there.

THE HOLY SPIRIT is right there.

THE THREE IN ONE,

for you are NEVER ALONE.

For GOD KNOWS your HEART,

ever part of it,

because HE created it.

HE KNOWS our broken spaces

and that is why

HE sent HIS SON to HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED.

To HEAL.

To RESTORE.

To RECONCILE us all back to HIMSELF,

for HE is the CREATOR of each one of us.

So THANK YOU GOD

for SHOWING up so

 BIG

through THE HEARTS of our little grandchildren,

who

pull at my HEARTSTRINGS.

So will you join me and continue to ask

GOD to

OPEN THE EYES of your HEART

so that you

SEE HIM

and

HEAR HIM

and

FEEL HIS TOUCH

in the little things,

which actually become the

BIG THINGS

because

when GOD INTERRUPTS your LIFE,

HE GRACES you with

IMMEASURABLY MORE than you could ever imagine.

And it all started with

sitting on a blanket

in a park,

to swinging on a swing,

a MOMENT in time that

will be forever tattooed on my heart,

for it was

"A GIFT FROM GOD"
