Day 8: From Broken Into Beautiful

ONCE UPON A TIME...

there lived a little girl who was knitted together in her mother's womb.

She was fearfully and wonderfully made.

Then came

the

dot...

dot...

dots...

of life,

that followed the beautiful beginning of her story.

The moments that wounded her heart.

The words she never forgot.

The disappointments.

The hurts.

The fears.

Trying to survive,

she packed a suitcase filled with the bricks she believed would protect her.

Bricks of

REJECTION.

INSIGNIFICANCE.

INSECURITY.

One by one,

she built a castle.

A place to hide.

A place that felt safe.

It became her stronghold.

Until one day, it began to crumble.

Because it could never

DELIVER what it promised.

Lost. Alone. She wondered,

Who could rebuild my life?

Then she met

THE CARPENTER.

But not just a carpenter.

For

HE didn't begin by rebuilding her castle.

HE began by rebuilding HER.

One brick at a time.

HE exchanged her REJECTION for HIS ACCEPTANCE~

"For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS one and only SON, that whoever believes in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life"(John 3:16).

HE exchanged

her INSIGNIFICANCE for HIS SIGNIFICANCE~

"See what great love the FATHER has lavished on us,

that we should be called children of GOD! And that is what we are!"(1 John 3:1).

HE exchanged

her INSECURITY for HIS SECURITY

to rewrite her story to

LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER~

"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of MY hand. MY FATHER, who has given them to ME, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of MY FATHER’s hand" (John10:28-29).Then

HE carried all those burdens to

 THE CROSS.

There,

HE bore what she could never carry.

And when

HE rose from the grave,

her old stronghold no longer had the final word.

Because her SECURITY was no longer found

in the walls she had built.

It was found

in

THE ROCK~

"The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

my GOD is my rock, in whom I take refuge,

my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold"(Psalm 18:2).

For years,

she thought life was about building her own kingdom.

Protecting herself.

Proving herself.

Holding everything together.

But then she discovered the greatest

TRUTH of all

that changed her story

and making it HIS STORY.

IT'S NOT ABOUT ME.

It never was.

It's about

THE CARPENTER.

The ONE who rebuilds broken hearts.

And that my friend is my story,

when the little girl in me

 met

THE CARPENTER of my heart,

who I can not live without.

JESUS,

the ONE who exchanges our weakness for

HIS STRENGTH.

Our fear for HIS PEACE.

Our shame for HIS GRACE.

Our story for HIS STORY.

Maybe you've been building your own castle too.

Brick by brick.

Trying to find

SECURITY in something other than JESUS.

What brick are you still carrying?

Will you place it into the hands of

THE CARPENTER?

Because

HE still does what only HE can do.

HE exchanges what binds you for what sets you FREE.

From

ONCE UPON A TIME

to

HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

From

RAGS to RICHES.

Not because of what

YOU have built.

But because of what

JESUS has already FINISHED.

Because,

IT'S NOT ABOUT ME.

It's about

THE CARPENTER

who changes my story and your story

into

"GOD'S STORY"
