Day 7: Human Humility

HUMILITY is not being a doormat.
HUMILITY is not being weak.
HUMILITY is not being a coward.
HUMILITY takes the courage to say
IT'S NOT ABOUT ME
because
IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS.
Simple?
Yes.
Easy?
Not always.
Because my nature wants life to be about
ME
MY plans.
MY timing.
MY recognition.
MY way.
But HUMILITY steps aside and says,
"JESUS, YOU lead."
And when I move out of the way, there is less
of
ME
standing in the way of what
GOD wants to do through me.
Oh,
the FREEDOM
of letting
JESUS
be
JESUS.
So that you can become the person
GOD created you to be.
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under GOD'S mighty hand,
that HE may lift you up in due time"(1 Peter 5:6),
The only way up is first down
because HUMILITY is SUBMISSION~
"Acknowledgment of inferiority or dependence".
HUMILITY is not thinking less of yourself.
It is thinking of yourself less,
because your eyes are fixed on
JESUS.
And when HUMILITY fills your heart,
SUBMISSION becomes your joyful response.
Because
IT'S NOT ABOUT ME.
It's about JESUS.
HUMILITY is SURRENDER.
It is depending on
GOD
instead of depending on yourself.
For how low can you go~
“Get down on your knees before the MASTER;
it's the only way you'll get on your feet” (James 4:8.)
As low as possible.
And then all of a sudden it is okay to not be okay
to be striving to do more
or to be more,
just so that you feel more of yourself
to feel alive.
HUMILITY doesn't remove your humanity.
It removes your need to make life about
"ME".
It allows the life of CHRIST to be seen more clearly through you.
For,
"I have been crucified with CHRIST: and I myself no longer live,
but CHRIST lives in me. And the real life I now have within this body is a result of
my trusting in the SON OF GOD, who loved me and gave HIMSELF for me" (Galatians 2:20)
Oh to be less HUMAN~
"Your old life is dead. Your new life,
which is your real life—
even though invisible to spectators—
is with CHRIST. HE is your life" (Colossians 3:3).
What FREEDOM!
The MORE I SURRENDER,
the MORE HE STRENGTHENS.
The MORE I DECREASE,
the MORE HE INCREASES.
The MORE I TRUST,
the MORE HE WORKS.
Oh to take the stance of HUMILITY
is what empowers you to do the impossible because,
"I can do all things through HIM who strengthens me"(Philippians 4:13).
Not because you are strong,
but because HE IS.
So...
how low can you go?
Low enough to kneel.
Low enough to SURRENDER.
Low enough to let go of ME.
Because that is where
GOD lifts you higher than you could ever climb on your own.
The way up has always begun with HUMILITIY.
Because...
IT'S NOT ABOUT ME.
It's about
JESUS.
HE must become greater.
I must become less.
And that is the place
where you will truly
"TOUCH THE SKY"*
