They all came from around the country
with smiling hearts,
as those around them cheered them on.
Their oath is
"Let me win.
But if I cannot win,
let me be BRAVE in the attempt" (Eunice Shriver)
And they mean it. And they live it.
All the Olympiads who came to participate in the
SPECIAL OLYMPICS.
Truly a SPECIAL event
as
PEACE was the running thread.
Was it just about the
competition
or was it about
thousands gathering together
unified in spirit
rejoicing in spirit,
because each athlete had already
won the spot to compete
because they
plugged into their
SPECIAL GOD given gifts and talents
so that they could be who GOD created them to be.
As we all have our SPECIAL GOD given gifts and talents
that are tucked deep inside our hearts,
from the day GOD birthed us into existence,
as no one is exempt.
GOD knitted together your
GOD given PASSIONS
that makes you you.
To be so connected to
GOD
that
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD" (Colossians 3:23)
so that you
"Rejoice in the LORD always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4)
just because you are alive
in this moment
and
able to participate
in LIFE.
We don't have to be an
OLYMPIAD,
but in that moment
I wish I was one
because of
the JOY that filled the stadium
and all the spectators hearts.
Life stood still for a moment
for PEACE on earth was a reality.
I wish the world could have stopped at that moment,
yet it did in my heart
for I could hear
JESUS whisper,
"Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other" (John 13: 34)
as
LOVE filled the air.
For all our differences were now made the same,
as all of GOD creations filled the stadium
with a fervor to
LIVE IN THE MOMENT
and to make it the best MOMENT~
not based on winning or losing
but to
just show up
and
"let me be BRAVE in the attempt".

Because being BRAVE is for everyone~
"I can do all things through CHRIST who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13).
So let's join all the Olympiads
and LIVE "BRAVE"
