One moment life feels like it used to
because you are doing what you used to do
before LIVING MASKED.
The MASK has become a reminder that we are not in control.
But were we really in control before MASKS?
Think about it.
Could we control going to the ER?
Could we control watching a love one die?
Could we control the weather?
Could we control uncertainty?
Living MASKED is a REALITY in this moment of time
and it is causing such WEARINESS
Are you getting weary in the wait?
Are you weary of being weary?
Are you weary of being uncertain?
Are you weary of waiting for something to change?
Are you weary with conflict?
Are you weary of fear?
Are you just plain ole weary?
I am.
I feel like I am stuck in a fishbowl looking through glass
just waiting for the breakthrough
of when will uncertainty, conflict, fear, & death go away.
But then I am gently reminded that we are living in a
MASKED REALITY because
REALITY is here.
For REALITY is REST in weariness the moment we come
to the ONE who asks us to come.
For REALITY is CERTAINTY because
of the ONE who is always CERTAIN about HIS plans for you & me.
For REALITY is CHANGE
because GOD doesn’t keep us where we are as HE is taking us to greater depths.
For REALITY is RECONCILIATION
in all conflict because HIS FORGIVENESS removes all bitterness.
For REALITY is FAITH
that takes away all fear because
FAITH is the REALITY in the midst of
weariness, uncertainty, change, fear. & conflict.
So what if SOMENE came to your home and told you
that you could have REST despite the WEARINESS would you want it~
Or
would you slam the door and tell them to go away?
Or
would you want to hear more about it
because you are at the end of your rope?
Well,
HE’S knocking.
You hear it. You want it.
You opened the door before, but now you are too WEARY
to believe you can have that REST now because you are just too tired.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
You open the door a crack
and hear
"COME TO ME ALL who are WEARY & burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28)
Do you come?
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Never be too weary
to COME to the ONE who is knocking all hours of the day and night
because
when you COME TO HIM you never have to wear a
MASK
because
HE is REALITY.
