Adam and Eve did it.
Jonah did it.
The Prodigal Son did it.
Joni Jones did it.
We
RAN AWAY!
No matter how you look at it
RUNNING AWAY doesn’t count as an exercise
because RUNNING AWAY is standing still.
It brings with you what you are RUNNING AWAY from~
you & your beating heart.
RUNNING as far as you can
AWAY
to
somewhere or something else.
Yet no matter where your destination is,
your HEART will be there too!
What do you RUN from?
Is it your past, present or future?
And
Where do you RUN to when you don't want to be or feel where you are?
What if JESUS RAN AWAY from the cross?
Where would
HOPE
LOVE
&
PEACE
be found?
Where would
FORGIVENESS
GRACE
MERCY
be received?
JESUS tells us that
the Prodigal Son
RAN away from home
but
"...when he came to his senses...
he got up and went back to his FATHER.
But while he was still a long way off, HIS FATHER saw him and was filled with compassion for him; HE RAN to his son, threw HIS arms around him and kissed him" (Luke 15:17-20).
No questions aske
So who really is the runner?
GOD tells us how to RUN~
"Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins.
Keep your eyes, _______*(put your name) on JESUS,
who both began and finished this race you _______* is in.
Study how HE did it.
Because HE never lost sight of where
HE was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with GOD—
HE could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever.
And now HE'S there, in the place of honor, right alongside GOD.
When you,_______*,
find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility HE plowed through.
That will shoot adrenaline into your soul, _______*!" (Hebrews 12:1-3)
because
GOD is RUNNING to you
only because
HIS SON
has opened up HIS arms
on the cross
so HE could put them around you.
So put on your sneakers
and
"RUN TO THE FATHER"
