Day 5: Press Forward

Writer: JoniJoni

HE saw you IN YOUR PAST.

HE sees you IN YOUR PRESENT.

HE saw her in the desert

Once upon a time there lived a woman

who was created in her mother’s womb & was fearfully & wonderfully made,

yet treated as unfavored.

HAGAR~

a concubine,

the one who was pregnant with Sarai & Abraham’s child,

because it was taking GOD way too long to fulfill HIS PROMISE that they would have a son.

HAGAR,

an insignificant character,

yet so very significant in GOD's eyes.

She was an outcast, but not forsaken~

"Sarai treated her harshly& humiliated her, and Hagar fled from her" (Genesis 16:6 AMP)

HAGAR ran away to the desert

And met the REAL GOD who sees her~

"She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her:

'You are the GOD who sees me,' for she said,

'I have now seen the ONE who sees me.'” (Genesis 16:13)

EL ROI~

.THE GOD WHO SEES

because HE heard her when no one else did.

HAGAR

Stuck in the present,

because of her past & uncertain future.

But EL ROI spoke & met her right where she was.

She then ran back to Sarai & Abraham

because GOD heard her & GOD saw her.

Oh the power that fills your being

when you meet a REAL GOD in the midst of your REAL STORY

that enables you to PRESS FORWARD in the present~

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which CHRIST JESUS took hold of me.

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.

But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind &

straining toward what is ahead.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which

GOD has called me heavenward in CHRIST JESUS (Philippians 3:14).

So let's PRESS FORWARD with a REAL GOD who sees us in our REAL LIFE STORY

and run~

"BACK TO THE ALTAR" (listen to the song below)
