Once upon a time there lived a little girl
who followed the rules,
yet the rules were ever changing.
Make your bed and she made her bed,
yet just not made "RIGHT" enough.
So what is a little girl to do.
Try try again
And that is what she did.
But still nothing was ever RIGHT enough.
What is a little girl to do?
Do what she is told.
Strive harder for perfection.
But what if PERFECT is never PERFECT enough?
The little girl limps through life
questioning what is wrong with her
while she keeps striving to please those who ask her to follow the rules
that others are demanding she follows.
But she never reaches the EXPECTATIONS
that were placed on her.
Fast forward and the little girl is an adult,
who has finally got it
RIGHT
because
she gave up following the rules
that really weren't rules,
but high EXPECTATIONS placed on her
that were humanly impossible to achieve.
BUT GOD
broke through the performance & perfectionist dance
of her
NEVER GOOD ENOUGH status
the moment
she stood
before the
PERFECT ONE
Who looked upon her, despite all her imperfections
and
placed a PERFECT robe on her that made her
PERFECT
in the sight of her CREATOR.
BUT GOD
sees her as
PERFECT
because she is clothed in the riches of
HIS PERFECT SON
who she invited into her life.
This she is me.
"I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my GOD!
For HE has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness"
( Isaiah 61:10).
BUT ONLY JESUS
then took away the
STRIVING
to meet every human EXPECTATION
placed on me,
because it is humanly impossible
to follow all the
RULES OF EXPECTATIONS,
when I can't even meet the EXPECTATIONS I place on myself.
BUT GOD is the only one who
exceeds all EXPECTATIONS
because HE sent HIS SON
to do what is humanly impossible
to go beyond every
EXPECTATION~
"BUT MY GOD shall supply all your needs according to
HIS riches in glory by CHRIST JESUS" (Philippians 4:19).
This little girl,
tucked inside a middle age woman,
no longer limps through life
striving
to be & to do
only what our
PERFECT GOD can be & do
for me
and for you & for everyone else
because
"HE runs to me. Arms open wide.
HE protects me.
HE provides more than I can dream.
More than enough.
HE holds me close. And lets me know
That I belong.
HE wants me so.
HE shows me unfailing, faithful love..."
BECAUSE
that is
"WHAT MY FATHER DOES"
