Day 4: The Door To Real Life

There is the DOOR.

And it is very NARROW.

And you wonder if you could even fit.

But there is another DOOR.

And it is very WIDE.

And it is so easy to walk through.

Both DOORS.

Both have

WELCOME signs.

Both have people walking through.

But you can only pick one.

You see many walking through the

WIDE door,

so maybe you will FOLLOW THEM.

But why aren't there as many walking through the NARROW DOOR?

Your curiosity peeks.

You read the fine print

under the WELCOME sign above the NARROW DOOR~

“Enter through the narrow gate.

For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path

that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss,

 and there are many who enter through it.  

But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life,

and there are few who find it"

(Matthew 7:13-14)

Hmm.

You are even more confused now.

For why would you walk through the NARROW GATE.

Who would choose difficulty.

But then you see HIM.

HE is standing at the DOOR.

Actually HE is the DOOR. 

HE is gentle.

HE is compassionate.

HE is INVITING you to COME.

Your HEART starts to beat like it has never beat before,

for you are overwhelmed with

A PEACE that transcends all understanding.

The beat, beat, beat, of your heart is more like a

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK.

An excitement of GREAT EXPECTATION washes over you.

Is this for REAL?

Is HE for REAL?

You look at the WIDE door,

and see the many walking through.

And there you are, standing ALONE. 

But are you really ALONE,

for you are

face to face with the ONE who whispers to you again,

"COME".

HE isn't forcing you.

HE isn't tempting you.

 HE looks right in your eyes and even says your name,

"I came that you, _____________, may have life and have it abundantly"

(John 10:10).

The INVITATION is for you,

for you are the only one standing there.

So is this BLIND FAITH, 

for you don't know what is other side of the

DOOR,

yet you are face to face with the ONE who is INVITING you.

And HE speaks again,

"Blessed [happy, spiritually secure, and favored by GOD].

are they who did not see ME and yet believed IN ME”

(John 20:29).

You want to BE BLESSED.

But is HE telling you that you are BLESSED

if you BELIEVE by not seeing HIM?

But there HE IS.

You SEE HIM. 

What you don't SEE is what is behind the DOOR.

And then HE speaks again,

"I am the Door; anyone who enters through ME will be saved [and will live forever],

and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security)"

(John 10:9).

And now it is up to you, to take the first step.

through the NARROW DOOR.

For HE IS the DOOR.

For HE IS JESUS.

For HE IS ALL you have been searching for,

while you walked through the WIDE door in the past.

But WIDE is the DOOR that leads to destruction.

And you know destruction, as it clothes you with

ANXIETY,

DESPAIR,

BITTERNESS,

FEAR,

HATRED,

JUDGEMENT,

HOPELESSNESS...

But there is the NARROW DOOR.

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

And you take the first STEP through the

 NARROW DOOR

with the ONE who will walk with you,

and you never look back.

Get Ready. Get Set. Go.
