I am guilty as charged~
I don't "FEEL" EASTER
because
I always made
EASTER
about the
baskets & bunny trails &
the anticipation of the excitement I would see on my
children's faces
as they opened every plastic egg
& were wowed by the bunny prints
that lead them to their baskets.
I don't "FEEL" EASTER
& that makes me sad
as I am traveling down memory lane,
but I realize that I don't have to
"FEEL" EASTER
because
EASTER isn't a FEELING
because
JESUS isn't a FEELING
&
JESUS isn't about a day.
As I had this problem at Christmas
when I was trying to make it about a
"FEELING",
when all that I was trying to do
was to bring life back to when my "kids" were kids.
BUT GOD
won't let me stay in my "FEELINGS",
as this is how these daily musings began 6 years ago
when I asked the question through Advent~
"WHO IS THIS BABY?".
And
GOD
answered every morning as
HE
grew my faith
as my fingers typed what was flowing in my heart,
as HE still continues to do so today.
Because GOD isn't a "FEELING"!
EASTER is SUNDAY~
a day of remembrance
of
JESUS walking out of the tomb so that we will too.
EASTER is SUNDAY~
a day or remembrance
of our traditions that once where, yet new ones have begun.
EASTER is SUNDAY~
a day of remembrance
when we will miss those who are no longer here to celebrate.
EASTER~
a day that lives in our hearts every day
because if it wasn't for
EASTER
there would be no
JESUS
who walks with us every day
wherever life may take us
because
EASTER isn't a feeling
&
JESUS isn't a feeling.
JESUS IS
Who HE was Born to be.
Who HE was crucified to be.
Who HE was buried to be.
Who HE was RISEN to be.
OUR SAVIOR
Who walks with us in the midst of our
FEELINGS
so that HE can take us beyond them.
Let's
FAST
from our
FEELINGS
when they take us down a path that leads us
to
Hopeless & Helpless & Anxiety & Doubt & Fear
and instead cry out to the
RISEN ONE
Who will become more to you than a fleeting
FEELING
because
JESUS ISN'T A FEELING
because
HE SAID~
“I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life.
No one gets to the FATHER apart from ME..
If you really knew ME, you would know MY FATHER as well.
From now on, you do know HIM. You’ve even seen HIM!” (John 14:6).
FEELINGS
come & go but
JESUS
always comes & always stays
right where you are as
HE
takes us beyond what we are
FEELING!
"May the GOD of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust IN HIM,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT" (Romans 15:13)
Because
how can JESUS be a FEELING
when
HE
"THE GOSPEL" (listen to the song below)
