HE SPOKE.
They LISTENED.
And then what.
Did they GO and DO what HE taught them to DO,
or did they just LISTEN
to
THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT.
JESUS sat down on the MOUNTainside and began teaching.
Crowds drew around HIM.
And HE SPOKE
from HIS HEART
about the HEART.
Your HEART. My HEART. Everyone's HEART.
Picture it.
You are hiking up a mountain
on a beautiful day,
and you see a man
sitting and speaking,
and you keep hearing the words,
"BLESSED ARE YOU".
Would you stop and listen?
What if you heard the words,
"You better do this or you will die?".
Yikes.
But that is not JESUS.
Never condemning.
Never forcing,
Always INVITING ALL to COME.
BLESSED are you, _____________.
Can you put your name in the blank and RECEIVE
the TRUTH that you are BLESSED.
Oh that is easy, until you hear HIS next words,
"...are the poor in spirit...".
Does that mean that you have to DO something to be BLESSED,
or is JESUS INVITING to BECOME?
(Matthew 5:3).
Hmm.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE?
Would you question if this is for you,
or is JESUS talking about someone else.
What is JESUS trying to say?
Or DO HIS WORDS pierce your heart,
because you are feeling a wee bit poor in your spirit.
Oh to STOP.
To not only LISTEN to JESUS' words,
but to
HEAR them with your HEART,
because
when JESUS' WORDS pierce your HEART
something happens that you can't explain,
but if your HEART could talk it would say,
"WOW, this is just what I needed".
JESUS doesn't waste HIS WORDS,
for HE came to do HIS FATHER'S WILL
and
HE only had days to do it until HE FINISHED it all on the cross.
THREE YEARS is all JESUS had to do what HE did,
to SAY what HE said HE would DO.
THREE YEARS.
1095 DAYS.
Not many.
But that is all that was needed for JESUS TO DO what GOD called HIM to DO.
TICK. TICK. TICK.
TIME.
Filled with precious SECONDS that keep pressing forward,
even if you don't press forward.
TICK. TICK. TICK.
BLESSED ARE YOU...
What are you DOing with
JESUS words?
DO you LISTEN?
DO you HEAR?
DO you PRESS FORWARD doing what you don't want to DO,
but know that it is what JESUS is INVITING to DO
TICK. TICK. TICK.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE BLESSED?
Oh
"TO BE"
is to take
JESUS' WORDS to your HEART
and then
PRESS FORWARD
as if you LIFE depended on it.
And why?
REAL LIFE depends on JESUS,
if you want to LIVE THE ABUNDANT LIFE
that JESUS was born to give,
in this very SECOND
even if you don't feel BLESSED.
Are you BLESSED?
"BLESSED are
the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever]
(Matthew 5:3)
THE POOR IN SPIRIT.
The INSIGNIFICANT.
Do you feel INSIGNIFICANT?
Do you want TO BE INSIGNIFICANT?
Well if you want to
BE BLESSED
the answer is
YES,
as INSIGNIFICANCE takes on a whole new meaning.
TO BE POOR IN SPIRIT
is coming to the end of yourself,
as it is the stance of HUMILITY.
“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope.
With less of you there is more of GOD and his rule"
(Matthew 3:1 msg)
Have you ever been at the end of your rope?
You are holding on so tight to doing life your way,
and you know that you NEED to let go,
but you still hold on
because what would happen if you LET GO.
Hmm.
You will BE BLESSED.
To become INSIGNIFICANT
is the sweet spot of SURRENDER,
when you become putty,
or should I say clay,
in the
POTTER'S HANDS.
BLESSED are you, ________________,
the poor in spirt.
I love being INSIGNIFICANT,
removed of my three persons,
me, myself and I,
so that
HIS THREE PERSONS
take over my LIFE
so that I am
BLESSED,
especially when
I am feeling so INSIGNIFICANT when others strive to make me feel like I am.
So I ask you,
TO BE OR NOT TO BE
POOR IN SPIRIT?
Hmm.
The ANSWER is obvious.
TO BE.
Get Ready. Get Set. Go.
I, _____________, NEED YOU JESUS.
Have a BLESSED DAY
being
INSIGNIFICANT~
