PATIENCE~
Never GIVE UP
even if you feel like
GIVING UP
but GIVE IT UP TO GOD.
Easier said than done
as just hearing the words
BE PATIENT
ruffles my feathers
as I like to do things fast.
I move fast.
I want things done yesterday.
But when I am
WAITING
and the pain of the WAIT
stirs those inner heart throbs
of
sorrow & grief
for what I am WAITING for
I don't like the WAIT.
But then I feel GOD'S gentle tap on my shoulder
as HE whispers the words~
"Be still before ME and wait patiently for ME" (Psalm 37:7 paraphrased).
And then I respond that
I am being STILL
and I am WAITING,
but getting IMPATIENT
in the WAIT.
Hmm.
So am I really WAITING ON THE LORD
or WAITING ON _________?
What if the caterpillar got IMPATIENT
and broke out of the cocoon before it was fully a butterfly?
Or what if you cracked a bird egg before it was ready to hatch?
Hmm.
Need I say more.
GOD'S TIMING is PERFECT TIMING.
So when IMPATIENCE gets the best me
when what I want to happen isn't happening
I remember that
GOD IS ALWAYS HAPPENING
no matter what isn't HAPPENING~
"For we KNOW that GOD is working for the GOOD of all who LOVE HIM" (Romans 8:28)
So if I LOVE GOD and if you LOVE GOD
then HIS PROMISE is HIS PROMISE~
HE IS WORKING FOR OUR GOOD!
And GOOD takes time~
GOD'S TIME!
Why rush GOD when HE never rushes us
as HE WAITS
for the weary
for the prodigal
for the anxious
for the fearful
for the _______.
If I know beyond a shadow of a doubt
and you know beyond a shadow of a doubt
that GOD is WAITING
for you & me & everyone else
to just crawl up on
HIS lap
and embrace
HIS PURPOSE
for our lives,
wouldn't we WAIT PATIENTLY?
Because
HIS PURPOSES
are worth the WAIT.
For isn't nine months worth the WAIT
of the precious baby that is to born?
GOD has just given me
PATIENCE in the WAIT
for
HIS PLANS
&
HIS PURPOSES
are so much better than mine can ever be.
IMPATIENT vs. PATIENT.
My way vs. GOD'S way.
I choose GOD
and will WAIT with JOY~
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" (Romans 12:12).
And
I will
"WAIT ON YOU"
(listen to the song below)
