Day 28: Lost In Translation

Are you LOST IN TRANSLATION?

JESUS invites you TO COME,

BUT your heart hears,

"RUN in the other direction".

JESUS invites you to "FOLLOW ME",

BUT your heart hears,

"But first I NEED to do this".

JESUS invites you to "WATCH and PRAY",

BUT your heart hears

what the disciples wanted to hear,

"Please FALL ASLEEP while I am going to pray to OUR FATHER

in the GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE".

Hmm.

There they were.

JESUS SAID~

“MY soul is deeply grieved, so that I am almost dying of sorrow.

 Stay here and STAY AWAKE and KEEP WATCH with ME”*.

JESUS meant what HE SAID.

But then the hard part.

For the disciples to

BELIEVE what HE SAID,

AND then to DO what HE SAID.  

BUT at times there is a language barrier

that happens

from the heart of JESUS

to our ears,

or is it a MISINTERPRETATION,

because the words of JESUS

get LOST by your own TRANSLATION?

Hmm.

When JESUS SAID~

“MY soul is deeply grieved, so that I am almost dying of sorrow.

 Stay here and STAY AWAKE and KEEP WATCH with ME.”*

What did JESUS REALLY say?

Exactly what HE SAID.

So what did the disciples HEAR

and actually DO~

"HE came to the disciples and found them sleeping."*

Ouch.

LOST IN TRANSLATION~

"Please FALL ASLEEP while I am going to pray to OUR FATHER

in the GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE".

LOST IN TRANSLATION~

"HE came to the disciples and found them sleeping"*

Hmm.

But did JESUS give up on them.

HE ASKED AGAIN~

"Keep actively watching and praying that you may not come into temptation;

the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”*

LOST IN TRANSLATION~

"AGAIN HE came and found them sleeping..."*

Hmm.

One. Two. Third time~

"Then HE returned to the disciples and said to them, 'Are you still sleeping and resting? Listen, the hour of MY sacrifice is at hand and the SON OF MAN is being betrayed into the hands of sinners [whose way and nature is to oppose GOD].

 Get up, let us go. Look, My betrayer is near!' ”*

One. Two. Three.

Did Peter forget what JESUS told him right before HE was about to tell his disciples to WATCH AND PRAY

or did he CHOOSE to FORGET~

“You will all fall away because of ME this night [disillusioned about ME, confused, and some even ashamed of ME], for it is written [in the Scriptures], ‘I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’"*

A hard stop.

What would you have HEARD if JESUS said this to you?

Oh I would defend myself,

and CHOOSE not to BELIEVE these words about me,

because

there is no way that I would think that I could ever

FALL AWAY from JESUS.

Hmm.

 "Peter replied to Him, 'Though they all fall away because of YOU [and doubt and disown YOU], I will never fall away!'

 Jesus said to him, 'I assure you and most solemnly say to you, this night, before a rooster crows, you will [completely] deny ME three times.'

Peter said to JESUS, 'Even if I have to die with YOU, I will not deny YOU!'

 And all the disciples said the same thing"

Hmm.

LOST IN TRANSLATION

or LOST IN FEAR.

Not me. No way. I am not weak.

Hmm.

Oh yes me,

when I chose to get

LOST in TRANSLATION

instead of

BELIEVING JESUS

and DOING what HE asks of me.

For the time is NOW

to not only

LISTEN TO JESUS,

but then 

TO DO

what HE INVITES us all to DO,

because that is what it means to

"BELIEVE"
