Day 26: God's Way

There are two DOORS.
Both are open.
One is WIDE and the other is NARROW.
One is easy to enter through,
because it is WIDE.
To enter through the other DOOR
it is going to take some extra effort,
as there isn't room
for all your "stuff".
You see the fine print on the NARROW DOOR.
You lean in and read it aloud.
“If anyone wishes to follow ME [as MY disciple], HE must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow ME [believing in ME, conforming to MY example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in ME].
For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world]
for MY sake will find it [that is, life with ME for all eternity]"*
You go silent,
Your heart is pumping fast.
You don't know if this is a LIFE or DEATH sentence.
You then look over at the WIDE DOOR,
and everyone is laughing.
And you wonder what are they laughing at.
And you realize it is you,
because you are standing in front of the
NARROW DOOR.
You feel alone.
Do you go to the
WIDE DOOR?
You don't know what to do,
because for some reason you
are pulled to the NARROW DOOR
You then see more fine print.
You lean in and read it aloud.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it" *
And now you hear more laughter,
coming from those standing by the WIDE DOOR.
And someone speaks up~
"Why would you even consider walking through the NARROW DOOR?
Come with us. You have nothing to lose".
(Matthew 5:6).
You look at the WIDE DOOR,
the easy CHOICE for you because
you can just join the crowd and walk right through.
For you have nothing to lose.
But do you?
For then you
hear THE VOICE coming through the NARROW opening~
“Not everyone who says to ME, ‘LORD, LORD,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but only he who does the will of MY FATHER who is in heaven"*
*(Matthew 7:13-14; 21 ).
Do you take the RISK and give up all that you know
and walk through the NARROW DOOR?
Is it worth your LIFE?
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe...
WIDE vs. NARROW.?
Has LIFE become a game
or does REAL LIFE
have a NAME?
"ONLY JESUS"
(listen to the song below)
