Day 25: Blessed Obedience

He did it.

He actually held the knife above his son as he was about to kill him~

because GOD asked him.

And then at the moment of no return

GOD shows up~

"And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice. At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, 'Abraham! Abraham!'

“Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way,

for now I know that you truly fear GOD.

You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son” (Genesis 22: 10-12).

Could you and would you

do what it takes to

OBEY GOD~

no matter what HE asks you to do?

What if HE asked you

TO TRUST HIM in the midst of the unknown (Proverbs 3:5-6),

TO BE STILL when you just want to make something happen (Psalm 46:10),

TO PERSEVERE when you are beyond tired of trying (Galatians 6:9),

TO RECEIVE HIS FORGIVENESS  when you can't forgive yourself (Romans 8:1),

TO FORGIVE that one person who has done the unforgivable (Colossians 3:13).

So how is it possible to OBEY?

It is having

"FAITH like Daniel in the lion's den.

It is HOPE like Moses in the wilderness

It is having a HEART like David when faced with Goliath"*

Oh the FAITH, HOPE, and HEART OF OBEDIENCE! 

It is stepping out the boat like Paul

did so you can walk on water,

just because JESUS asks you to come.

What is OBEDIENCE?

It is submitting to the nails on a CROSS,

even though you are not guilty.

What is OBEDIENCE?

TO BELIEVE GOD.

And why?

Just because

 HE LOVES YOU (I John 3:1)?

What if OBEDIENCE is

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE,

because all it entails is to have

BLIND FAITH

in the midst of the absurdity,

in the midst of uncertainty,

and

in the midst of impossibility.

because

FAITH IS SEEING~

"You love HIM even though you have never seen HIM.

Though you do not see HIM now, you trust HIM;

and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy" ( I Peter 1:8)

And when you

LOVE HIM

you just want to

OBEY HIM,

because

who wants to hurt the one whom they LOVE?

 If GOD LOVES you

would HE ever lead you astray?

Never. Ever.

So I ask you,

where in your life is GOD asking you to OBEY HIM?

JUST DO IT.

And why?

Because OBEDIENCE

is an INVITATION

into the HEART OF JESUS

that sets you FREE

to LIVE THE ABUNDANT LIFE

through ALL THINGS.

Get ready. Get set. Go.
