Day 22: The Stillness Of God

You can't compete with TIME, because you can't stop TIME.
You can't slow down TIME, because TIME presses forward.
You can't quicken TIME, because a SECOND is a SECOND.
So what do you do with TIME,
the TIME you have right NOW?
STOP.
BE STILL.
And a PEACE that transcends all understanding will overwhelm you,
because you WILL be in the SECOND.
Hmm.
My mind just went blank,
which is an impossible task
because my mind never stops.
But NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE with GOD,
when GOD STILLS your mind.
BE STILL.
With GOD.
And oh how when you invite GOD into your SECOND,
HE "STILLS" your SECOND,
as you are unable to think about
anyone,
or
anything else,
or
even the
ANXIETIES
about what may or not happen in the next SECOND,
because the next
SECOND hasn't happened yet
and
you are engulfed in the SECOND of NOW.
Now that was a mouthful.
For JESUS tells us to not carry FUTURE ANXIETIES~
"Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble"
(Matthew 6:34).
And why CAN we BELIEVE JESUS?
Because JESUS had something to be ANXIOUS about~
HIS SECONDS HE would have to endure on the CROSS.
But JESUS was not thinking about the CROSS,
because HE was FOCUSED on
THE JOY that was beyond the CROSS.
HE was thinking about me, and you, and everyone else.
And when JESUS was in the Garden of Gethsemane,
HE was crying out to the LORD to take this cup from HIM,
which was HIS INVITING HIS FATHER into HIS SECONDS.
And the STILLNESS of GOD overwhelmed HIM,
for JESUS cried out, "MY FATHER, if it is possible, let this cup pass from ME;
yet not as I will, BUT AS YOU WILL” (Matthew 26:39).
Perfect submission.
Perfect STILLNESS in the PRESENCE of GOD.
So what if you STOPPED
and became so very
STILL,
giving GOD this SECOND.
Is it a SECOND of AGONY?
Is it a SECOND of REJOICING?
Is it a SECOND of UNCERTAINTY?
Is it a SECOND of PAIN?
Is it a SECOND of ____________?
No matter the SECOND,
INVITE GOD into your SECOND,
and let GOD be your GOD.
Just you and GOD.
But GOD doesn't come alone.
JESUS comes.
The HOLY SPIRIT comes.
And before you know it,
you are not alone in THIS SECOND.
For
PEACE,
HOPE,
JOY,
and
LOVE
become your companions.
Whatever you RELEASE to GOD,
HE does IMMEASURABLY MORE in your heart that does transcends all understanding,
as HE did it once again in this heart of mine.
Because GOD is so FAITHFUL to HIS WORD~
"Now to HIM who is able to [carry out HIS purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to HIS power that is at work within us" (Ephesians 3:20).
What is HIS MORE?
HIMSELF!
Will you join me and
INVITE GOD into your EVERY SECOND,
so that you will
be AMAZED by HIS GIFT OF GRACE in every SECOND.
Hmm, and it only takes a SECOND!
Tick. Tick. Tick.
BE STILL & KNOW.
"But as for me, I will look expectantly for the LORDand with confidence in Him I will keep watch; I will wait [with confident expectation] for the GOD of my salvation.My GOD will hear me" (Micah 7:7).
Therefore,
look to the left,
look to the right,
for
"HE IS IN THE ROOM"
