Day 22: The Silence Of Faith

I hear

THE SILENCE of the morning,

and the ringing in my ears.

I want GOD

to do what I love

when HE does it.

I want HIM to speak.

To whisper.

To reveal something

I have never seen before.

Instead,

there is

SILENCE.

But perhaps

THE SILENCE

is exactly

what HE wants me to hear.

It is the

BE STILL

kind of SILENCE.

I don't "feel"

that HE is here.

Yet,

I know HE is.

Sometimes

THE SILENCE

can feel deafening,

especially

when I have purposely

set aside time

to meet with GOD.

HE seems to have

nothing to say,

yet I know

HE has

everything to say.

The

SILENCE OF FAITH

has always been a test for me.

Because I am not

a naturally STILL person.

It reminds me of being a child.

Perhaps you played the same game.

My mom

would challenge

my siblings and me

to see who could remain

silent the longest.

Looking back,

maybe it wasn't really a game.

Maybe it was her gentle way

of saying,

"BE STILL".

It seems

GOD

is saying the very same thing to me.

And honestly,

I don't always like it.

I want HIM to say something profound.

Because once

you have experienced

the PRESENCE of GOD,

you long for more.

More of HIM.

More of HIS voice.

More of HIS heart.

Do you hear my wrestling?

This isn't a GOD problem.

It is my problem.

Because sometimes

I expect GOD to perform for me.

But then

HE breaks through the silence.

Not with a new revelation,

but with the question, that HE has posed to Job~

"Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?"(Job 38:4)

Hmm.

Who am I to tell the CREATOR

how or when HE should speak?

Then CHRISTMAS comes to mind.

There were

thousands of years

when heaven seemed silent,

as all where awaiting for the MESSIAH.

Only waiting.

Only silence.

Yet GOD

had never stopped working.

Then,

at just the right time,

the silence was broken

by the cry of a BABY.

IMMANUEL.

GOD WITH US.

CHRISTMAS reminds us

that silence does not mean absence.

Sometimes

GOD says

HIS greatest words

without speaking at all.

Sometimes

HIS PRESENCE

is the message.

Are you HEARING

THE SILENCE OF GOD,

loud and clear?

Are you WAITING to hear from GOD?

Are you TRUSTING GOD in the WAIT,

yet the SILENCE in the WAIT is getting the best of you?

Tick. Tick. Tick.

HE has spoken.

GOD has broken through the SILENCE.

JESUS IS HERE.

Oh THE SILENCE OF FAITH.

GOD isn't sleeping on the job,

for

GOD is STILL GOD

and HE is STILL GOD in the SILENCE.

Never stop talking to HIM.

 HIS PRESENCE is HIS VOICE.

For

GOD

is

"THE GOD WHO LISTENS"

(listen to the song below)
