Day 22: Just Say Thank You

It is one of those mornings

that I am feeling NOTHING,

but a good NOTHING

because I just AM.

I love this sweet spot.

It is beyond words.

It is tempting to

start shaking things up

and

digging to find

SOMETHING

that is wrong,

which wouldn't take very long,

for we all can find SOMETHING wrong.

But what if finding NOTHING wrong

is the

sweet spot of life

because this

FEELING NOTHING

is really

FEELING SOMETHING

because it is not of myself

as it is a gift from the

GIVER.

THE GIVER OF LIFE

who

is so GOOD

because

HE IS so FAITHFUL,

because

GOD only knows how to be GOOD. 

HE is the GOOD in ALL THINGS.

Maybe that is why HE has me at a hard STOP.

TICK. TICK. TICK.

 I can hear the ticks of my HEART

that beat,

because

I am ALIVE.

But ALIVE because of GOD.

An ALIVE that isn't just surviving to arrive,

but an

ALIVE that is FOREVER

because

JESUS BIRTHS real LIFE

that lasts FOREVER.

I like feeling NOTHING in the STILLNESS,

because the NOTHING isn't NOTHING.

BE STILL AND KNOW.

GOD IS GOD.

Take a SECOND.

And say

THANK YOU GOD for ___________.

Now take another SECOND.

THANK YOU GOD for _________. 

Now take another SECOND.

THANK YOU GOD for _________.

Oh your HEART should be racing right now,

because when you say

THANK YOU GOD it is contagious

that you become so

GRATEFUL

for the littlest things,

that end up becoming the biggest things

because

when GOD is in the equation

you EXPERIENCE THE GRACE OF GOD  in ALL THINGS. 

A SMILE.

A GIGGLE.

A sip of an espresso.

A phone call.

A "hi, how are you doing".

A prayer.

A tear.

A bite of a pizza.

FRIENDS showing up just because they want to be with you,

as you want to be with them.

A little child looking into your eyes telling you that they love you.

And it all starts

with a moment of

NOTHING

to STOP what you are doing,

and just say

THANK YOU GOD that

we get to THANK YOU!

I love feeling NOTHING,

because that is when

GOD gets me all by myself

so I can

EXPERIENCE THE STILLNESS OF GOD

that sends shivers down my spine

that trumps all things in the moment.

TICK. TICK. TICK.
