Day 22: Fingerprinted By God
You have ONE.
I have ONE.
Everyone has ONE.
But each ONE is different,
because it is uniquely designed just for YOU.
Look at your hands.
Look at your fingers.
Actually, you have TEN of them!
And no one else in the world has
the very same ONES you have.
FINGERPRINTS.
Think about it.
GOD is so attentive to detail
that even the tiny patterns
on your fingertips
are uniquely yours.
And what a beautiful reminder of your IDENTITY.
For you are
FINGERPRINTED BY GOD~
marked by the uniqueness of HIS creation.
Look at your fingers.
Every swirl.
Every loop.
Every ridge.
So UNIQUE.
So wonderfully formed.
Oh, how easily we overlook
something that seems so simple,
yet is so
BEAUTIFULLY COMPLICATED
that it leaves us marveling at the creativity of GOD.
You are so UNIQUE that there is no one exactly like you.
So WHAT IF today,
when you look at each person
GOD places in your path,
you see them as
HIS UNIQUE CREATION.
WONDERFULLY MADE.
ESPECIALLY DESIGNED BY GOD.
For ONCE UPON A TIME~
GOD DID
"Knit you together in your mother's womb"
(Psalm 139:13).
For you are
HIS WORKMANSHIP
(Ephesians 2:10).
And here's something I don't want you to miss.
You don't have to do anything SPECIAL.
You don't have to create something SPECIAL.
You don't have to say anything SPECIAL.
You are already SPECIAL
because
GOD CREATED YOU ON PURPOSE.
Think about your
BIRTH DAY.
The day you entered this world.
The day your life began outside your mother's womb.
DELIVERED.
At a particular time.
In a particular place.
On a day that became
YOUR BIRTH DAY.
And perhaps today is that very day for you.
HAPPY BIRTH DAY!
A reminder that your life matters.
Because GOD knows you more completely
than any human being ever could.
For HE KNOWS everything about you,
because
HE CREATED YOU~
"Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows" (Luke 12:7).
Oh, think about that.
Even the hairs on your head are numbered!
So let me ask you something.
If a tree falls in the forest,
and no one is there to hear it,
does it still make a sound?
Hmm.
And if no one notices you today,
does that mean you don't matter?
If no one calls...
If no one asks how you're doing...
If no one acknowledges your presence...
Does that make you
INSIGNIFICANT?
Oh, NO!
Because your significance was never dependent
on being noticed by another human being.
LOOK UP.
And keep
LOOKING UP.
For your CREATOR
SEES YOU.
KNOWS YOU.
HEARS YOU.
And CARES about every detail of your life.
Even the details you don't notice yourself.
Because you are
HIS CREATION.
HIS WORKMANSHIP.
CREATED ON PURPOSE.
And when you belong to
JESUS CHRIST,
you have the beautiful assurance
that nothing can separate you
from HIS LOVE.
(Romans 8:38–39)
So the next time
you look at your hands,
don't just see fingers.
See a reminder of how wonderfully
you have been made.
And remember...
YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL
TO BE SOMEONE SPECIAL TO GOD.
And
you don't have to try to be
SOMEONE ELSE,
because
"GOD made me to be me,
and you to be you,
UNIQUELY MADE,
so you never have to be anyone else.
