Day 20: Know Me Because I Know You

You become so

STILL

that you HEAR

the soft whisper to your SOUL:

"KNOW ME, BECAUSE I KNOW YOU."

The words seemed familiar, yet different.

And so I asked,

"Is that YOU, GOD?"

Deep down, I knew the answer.

Because what I heard were not merely words—

I EXPERIENCED GOD.

A surreal experience.

A HOLY moment that caused me to pause and wonder,

even though I know the SPIRIT OF GOD lives in me,

just as HE lives in you the moment you receive JESUS into your heart.

But do we truly live our lives

EXPERIENCING GOD?

Or does GOD become little more than a figment of our imagination

when the "other" voice distracts us from HIS TRUTH~

the same voice that distracted Eve to partake of the forbidden fruit?

"Did God really say...?" (Genesis 3:1)

For one moment,

the seed of DOUBT distracted Eve from the truth about a perfect GOD.

It was the voice that sought to come between

a PERSONAL relationship,

a REAL relationship,

a PERFECT relationship

with GOD.

For DOUBT wiggled its way into that relationship,

because "the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy" *.

And he is still lurking~

"Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion,

seeking someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8).

And there he was~

disguised as truth in PERFECT PARADISE.

But there was JESUS.

For JESUS has overcome the thief.

HE said it HIMSELF:

"I came that they may have life and have it abundantly" 

*(John 10:10).

For JESUS IS TRUTH.

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the FATHER except through ME" (John 14:6).

JESUS longs to meet with you in those silent moments,

where HIS SPIRIT whispers to your soul

in a way that overwhelms your entire being.

And this morning, GOD did it again.

As I sat in the silence with my espresso date with HIM,

I EXPERIENCED GOD at a deeper level than words can explain.

And just because I cannot fully explain it,

does not mean I must dissect it

to prove that I EXPERIENCED GOD.

Have you been there?

Have you heard from GOD,

yet struggled to BELIEVE HE would actually speak to you~

even though you say you BELIEVE IN HIM?

Hmm.

Now that is a mouthful.

Yet it is in the STILLNESS of this morning

that GOD has brought me to a place of

SILENCE

so indescribable,

so sacred,

that I do not want to move from this place.

For the burning bush is here.

"Is it YOU, GOD?"

And yes~

it is.

For HIS LIGHT never grows dim.

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" (John 1:5).

HIS LIGHT is shining brightly this morning

as HE whispers once again:

"KNOW ME, BECAUSE I KNOW YOU."

To KNOW GOD is to SEEK HIM

with ALL your heart,

ALL your soul,

and ALL your mind.

Because to KNOW GOD is to LOVE GOD.

"Love the LORD your GOD with ALL your heart and

with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind" 

(Matthew 22:37).

I get it.

I truly get it.

For GOD gently whispers:

"LET ME LOVE YOU."

Will you let GOD LOVE YOU?

Will you answer HIS INVITATION

to LOVE HIM with your ALL~

simply by showing up?

No agenda.

No performance.

No checklist.

Just being STILL  long enough

to KNOW HIM.

And when you do,

you WILL EXPERIENCE GOD.

For HE silences every competing voice,every distractionthat attempts to drown outTHE VOICE OF GOD.

Because GOD always has something to say~

even in the STILLNESS OF SILENCE.

And in that sacred place,

HIS PRESENCE becomes so overwhelming,

so beautiful,

and so full of peace,

that you never want to leave.

For the time is now.

KNOW ME, BECAUSE I KNOW YOU~

"I am the good shepherd. I know MY own, and MY own know ME"

(John 10:14).

Oh, JOYFUL JUNE.
