Day 2: Who Is Writing Your Story?

SEPTEMBER brings NEWNESS.

School begins.

A NEW grade.A NEW STEP.

From kindergartento first grade...

and the grades never stop.

Because LIFE NEVER STOPS.

It keeps asking usto take another

STEP

in a

NEW DIRECTION.

So...

What NEW STEP are you standing on TODAY?

Is it a life without someone you love?

Is it a NEW job or leaving an OLD one?

Is it a NEW relationship... or an OLD relationship that you desperately want to become NEW?

Is your child leaving home, turning the home you knew into a

NEW EMPTY NEST?

Or is it simply a NEW DAY

and you have absolutely no idea what

NEW STEP to take?

With every NEW STEP there is a ripple effect.

Because when something

NEW is BIRTHED in our lives, there is CHANGE.

There is TRANSITION.

And TRANSITION can produce NEW GROWTH.

But are we open to GROWING?

Are we willing to TRANSITION

from what we know into something NEW?

Or would we rather stay safely inside the cocoon,

because being a caterpillar is what we know.

So why bother learning how to use NEW WINGS?

Hmm.

How do YOU deal with CHANGE?

And maybe an even bigger question is

WHO IS WRITING YOUR STORY?

When life changes, do you SEIZE the moment

with

GREAT EXPECTATION

and

GREAT ANTICIPATION because you KNOW

that even when you don't understand what GOD is doing,

HE IS STILL WORKING?

And we know that in all things GOD works for the good of those who love HIM...”

(Romans 8:28).

From

OLD to NEW.

How are you living in

THE DASH

between

WHAT WAS

and

WHAT IS

on your way to

what

WILL BE?

LIFE is forever CHANGING.

Like the second hand on a clock...

TICK.TICK.TICK.

No one can stop the hands of

TIME.

So why do we keep trying

by

LOOKING BACK

at

WHAT WAS?

Whether what was oh so GOOD

or oh so BAD...

it was still YESTERDAY.

Kindergarten may have been wonderful,

but eventually, there is seventh grade.

TICK.TICK.TICK.

CHANGE

keeps on

CHANGING.

But

JESUS DOESN'T.

And maybe that is exactly what we need to know

when everything else does.

When I don't know what the next step looks like,

JESUS DOES.

When I don't know where the staircase is leading,

JESUS DOES.

When I cannot see what is around the corner,

JESUS IS ALREADY THERE.

HE can lead me

ONE STEP

at a time

into places I have never been before.

Not because I know what is coming,

but because

I KNOW WHO IS LEADING ME.

Oh...

NEW STEP

NEW GROWTH.

NEW YOU.

No matter what "grade"you are in, because you never outgrow

JESUS.

And thankfully...

HE NEVER CHANGES.

"JESUS CHRIST is the same yesterday and today and forever”

(Hebrews 13:8).

So maybe it's time to leave yesterday

where it belongs~

BEHIND US.

And take the NEXT STEP.

Then the NEXT.

And the NEXT.

STEP BY STEP~

"Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, press on toward the goal to win the prize for which GOD has called me heavenward in CHRIST JESUS”

(Philippians 3:13–14).

Because

SEPTEMBER

is

NEW

will you be willing

to walk with JESUS

into something

NEW too?

Because perhaps the question isn't simply:

WHAT WILL MY NEXT CHAPTER BE?

Perhaps it is:

WHO AM I LETTING WRITE IT?

Will I keep gripping

THE CHALK

trying to write the story I think my life should tell?

Or will I place

THE CHALK

into the hands of

JESUS

and trust HIM with

THE NEXT LINE?

Maybe that is how we begin this

NEW SEPTEMBER.

Not knowing every answer.

Not seeing every STEP.

Not understanding every change.

But knowing

THE ONE who does.

Are you READY?

Take the chalk,

and now

HAND IT TO JESUS.

And join us each day as we walk into

SEPTEMBER

and learn to

LIVE NEW

through our

NEW DEVOTIONAL SERIES~

CHALK TALK: STEP BY STEP

REAL LIFE. REAL STORY. REAL GOD.

Because the story is still being written.

And we don't need to know every chapter

when we know

THE AUTHOR.

HAPPY NEW~

"TODAY.TOMORROW.AND FOREVER"

(Listen to the song below.)
