He couldn't believe it.
He followed all the rules,
but now the other "he" was getting showered upon with a celebration.
The one who did it all wrong.
The one who followed his own path
The one who left home.
The one who had the guts to leave his father
with his part of the inheritance,
even while the father was still alive.
And now "he" comes home
and gets treated with such
GRACE.
"But what about me?" thinks the older brother.
The one who was home with his father.
Maybe just maybe he was living with CONDITIONS.
With ENTITLEMENT
With EXPECTATIONS.
Maybe just maybe the older brother's heart
was more lost than his PRODIGAL brother.
Oh how JESUS leaves the 99 to
pursue the one lost sheep.
But what about the 99
who are following JESUS~
are they forgotten?
Or are they
FORGIVEN, FAVORED, and FREE
to live in HIS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
because they are
ACCEPTED
SECURE
&
SIGNIFICANT.
"It is finished" are just not words said on a cross
as they are
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
that finishes it all,
because when GOD covers you with HIS GRACE
you have a celebration
every second of every day
because HE SEES you
. HE HEARS you
HE LOVES you.
"Get over yourself" are the words I feel GOD would
love to say to the older brother
as HE says them to me
when I forget
WHOSE I am
&
WHO I follow.
My choice. Your choice. Everyone's choice.
To be one of the 99
who lives covered with
UNCONDITIONAL GRACE.
because
JESUS left the 99 to pursue the one
to bring
you & me & everyone else
back home
where we always belong
with our
