REMEMBER those yellow highlighters

that underline those words

that you need to REMEMBER to study,

so they stay in your mind.

Oh you go back and keep reading them,

until they become part of you

so that you will never FORGET.

Oh how those yellow highlighters can be a weapon

when they underline those things of the past

that you keep reading & reading & reading

so that they become a part of you,

but not a good part.

What do you have HIGHLIGHTED that you don't want to FORGET?

What do you have HIGHLIGHTED that no one will let you FORGET?

Is it~

a wounded heart,

or

a I wish I didn't do this or that,

or

I wish they didn't do this or that?

What if instead

you took a big fat red sharpie

and covered the yellow so that you can

REMEMBER TO FORGET,

because that is what GOD has done

the moment JESUS cried out

"IT IS FINISHED"

so that

GOD

REMEMBERS TO FORGET~

"Therefore, since we have now been justified [declared free of the guilt of sin]

by HIS blood, [how much more certain is it that]

we will be saved from the wrath of GOD" (Romans 5:9).

TO FORGET~

"To lose out of mind" (logos)

TO FORGET~

TO REMEMBER NOT.

To not keep REGURGITATING,

To not keep picking off the scab of a bruise.

TO FORGET~

"forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead"

(Philippians 3:13).

Doesn't a clock

REMEMBER TO FORGET

the PAST

as it continues to move forward with every tick,

as time never stops for anyone.

Tick. Tick. Tick.

Forward motion.

Another second gone.

A second that becomes today's yesterday.

A glorious second to live in when you

REMEMBER TO FORGET~

“Forget the former things; Do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah 43:18).

 REMEMBER TO FORGET

because

Dwelling on and fixating on

THE PAST

inhibits you from facing the future.

Isn’t the future

the unknowns of tomorrow & the “what ifs"

that we fear?

But how do we FORGET something that we did or someone else did,

as doesn't THE PAST

become a part of you and I

because it did happen?

But

dwelling on yesterday

and the day before that,

and the day before that,

is like going up a down escalator,

as it keeps you in the same place.

You and I can't remove our PAST.

What do you need to say goodbye to that is following you everywhere,

infecting the present,

because you just can't FORGET?

Can you

REMEMBER TO FORGET

because

of the

ONE who came to

"Heal the brokenhearted" (Luke 4:18),

so that when

you and I look back to

THE PAST

with

JESUS

it doesn't hurt anymore.

REMEMBER TO FORGET~

"I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of

the upward call of GOD in CHRIST JESUS" (Philippians 3:14).

Thank YOU GOD for REMEMBERING TO FORGET~

"I, I am HE who blots out your transgressions for my own sake and I will not remember your sins" (Isaiah 43:25).

Because

GOD REMEMBERS TO FORGET~

"NO MATTER WHAT"

(listen to the song below)
