HE HAPPENS.
And then we HAPPEN.
When we STOP!
And it only takes a SECOND.
Just one of your PRECIOUS SECONDS
of your
daily 86400 SECONDS
Even if you don't STOP
HE STILL HAPPENS
because
GOD never STOPS
pursuing HIS very own.
And that my friend is you & me & everyone else.
Why would GOD create someone HE didn't want?
Why would I take the time to go to a store to buy something
just to throw it out when I got home?
"The LORD is not slow in keeping HIS promise, as some understand slowness. Instead HE is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish,
but everyone to come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9)
HE WAS THERE because HE IS HERE.
Even when I was running in the other direction.
HE never left me.
HE was there in my past when I almost died as a baby.
HE WAS THERE
when I was destroying myself with bulimia.
HE WAS THERE
when no one else was.
HE WAS THERE
when I would beat myself up because
I was seen and treated as unfavored.
HE WAS THERE
when fear
would strive to get the best of me
HE WAS THERE.
HE found me.
And then I HAPPENED.
Because A REAL GOD
who created me
PURSUED me.
But HE didn't STOP there,
because HE knew I needed
JESUS.
Oh GOD got my attention
as I spent time with HIM to really get to know HIM,
once I realized that HE wanted me to come to HIM
as my IMPERFECT self.
Because who TRUSTS someone they don't know?
Well GOD never left me
and I wouldn't leave HIM
because
I liked who I was becoming in HIS PRESENCE.
Little 'ole IMPERFECT me
PURSUED by a PERFECT GOD
who introduced me to
HIS PERFECT SON
and then
I really HAPPENED.
Oh the rest of my story is
HIS STORY
the moment
I STOPPED trying to write my own story
without HIM.
Oh STOP for a SECOND
And STOP for another SECOND
to be IN HIS PRESENCE.
And before you know it
your STORY becomes
HIS STORY
so that you never want to STOP being with HIM,
because
a SECOND
without
GOD is a SECOND without
REAL JOY
REAL PEACE
REAL HOPE
REAL LOVE
that was birthed on the day
JESUS
STOPPED on A CROSS~
"But GOD shows HIS love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us"
(Romans 5:8).
Oh GOD always HAPPENS because JESUS HAPPENED
even when your LIFE is not HAPPENING the way you want it to.
And that my friend is why we have to
STOP to BE STILL WITH
GOD & HIS SON this very
SECOND
and never STOP!
And the best part is that you can
COME AS YOU ARE
and bring all your "stuff",
because that is the sweet spot where GOD & JESUS HAPPEN.
