I take a STEP
that leads me in the right DIRECTION.
I love walking in the right DIRECTION.
And them something gets my attention
that sets me in another
DIRECTION.
And before you know it
I am turned around,
walking wobbly
along a path
that I don't like very much.
And then I hear a voice,
"This is the way, walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21).
And then I look to the right
and then to the left
and wonder if it is really GOD.
For who would talk to you
with
such GRACE,
without condemnation,
when you start to stray in another DIRECTION.
Only GOD!
Why is GOD so GRACIOUS with us?
Because that is what LOVES does.
LOVE is an INVITATION to ALL.
LOVE keeps you on HIS PATH,
that has a beacon of LIGHT at the end
that keeps you walking
in HIS DIRECTION.
For JESUS stands at the end of the path
with HIS INVITATION~
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows ME will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).
To FOLLOW~
"to behave in accordance or in agreement with" (logos).
JESUS INVITES ALL
to
do life like HE does.
Impossible you say, as no one can be like JESUS
because JESUS is JESUS.
But that is why JESUS did it first.
"HE was despised and rejected by men,A MAN of sorrows and pain and acquainted with grief;And like ONE from whom men hide their facesHE was despised, and we did not appreciate
HIS worth or esteem HIM"
(Isaiah 53:3).
Hmm.
Have you ever walked along the path of
REJECTION
SORROW
PAIN
DESPISED
&
UNAPPRECIATED?
It comes unexpected,
as you are having a great day.
You are FOLLOWING JESUS.
And then IT happens.
IT stops you in your tracks.
And then slowly but surely
you find yourself walking along the path of
ANGER
BITTERNESS
FRUSTRATION
HURT
&
PAIN,
and wonder how you got there.
BUT then you hear a voice,
"This is the way, walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21).
And then you see it.
THE PATH that you were walking on,
that has a
LIGHT
at the end
that is calling your name~
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows ME will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).
You get off the ground
and take the
STEP
IN HIS DIRECTION
that changes everything.
And then IT happens.
You start whistling.
You then start singing
because
you aren't walking alone for
"The LORD HIMSELF goes before you and will be with you;
HE will never leave you nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged"
(Deuteronomy 31:8),
Will you walk with me today
and
FAST from every
DISTRACTION
that leads you off of
GOD'S PATH,
and instead
go towards
THE LIGHT
and
FOLLOW
