Day 18: Do You See

Do you HEAR?

Do you SEE?

Do you KNOW?

I used to think that I HEARD, SAW, & KNEW

but what I thought I HEARD, SAW, & KNEW

was in my head.

So I went through the motions

BELIEVING that what I HEARD, SAW, & KNEW

was true,

but in a true way like I BELIEVE that George Washington was the first president.

I HEARD that JESUS was born on CHRISTMAS DAY

and even SAW JESUS on the cross at church.

I KNEW JESUS was GOD'S SON.

And then CHRISTMAS started to lose it's sparkle

as I grew older and then when my children grew older.

Something was missing

and it was because

THE BABY was missing.

JESUS isn't just a story.

GOD has such a way of getting your attention

so that you really HEAR & SEE & KNOW HIM.

As HE found me in the quicksand that was slowly taking me down

because I was missing the power

to get me to stand.

Then I looked up and there HE was,

because HE was always there,

but I never stopped long enough

to really

HEAR HIM

to really

SEE HIM

to really

KNOW HIM.

CHRISTMAS may be just a season,

but JESUS is not season

as HE is the MISSING PEACE.

So when I look at

THE BABY in my nativity,

that I don't pack away after CHRISTMAS

because I need to

HEAR & SEE & KNOW HIM

every second of every day of every season

because

THIS BABY was born

to SAVE my life

to SAVE your life

to SAVE everyone's life.

Do you HEAR HIM?

Do you SEE HIM?

Do you KNOW HIM?

Please answer

YES & YES & YES

and then you will never pack CHRISTMAS away for next year

because you can't pack away

THE BABY

once HE fills your heart.

So I ask you again

"DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR" (listen to the song below)
