It gets LONELY at times
FOLLOWING JESUS
when you are the only one in a room who
is FOLLOWING JESUS.
Have you ever BELIEVED so BIG
and have given your life for
WHO you BELIEVE,
but then at times it
leaves you in a place
of utter silence
as if you are the only one on the planet who
BELIEVES BIG too?
But then you hear the voice of another
who also BELIEVES BIG ,
and then the LONELINESS diminishes
because it only takes one
to join with you.
For when two or more are gathered
a party starts
as the room gets full
because there is
JESUS.
Now I know that even when I am by myself
GOD is with me
JESUS is with me
&
THE HOLY SPIRIT is within me,
but sometimes I want people with skin on
to remind me that
what I BELIEVE is worth BELIEVING.
Then I think of
THE LONELINESS OF JESUS
as HE continually did what
HIS FATHER asked HIM to do,
knowing that HE would be
brutally beaten on a cross
so that none of us would ever have to be.
THE LONELINESS OF JESUS
whose supporting FOLLOWERS
fell asleep at HIS most sorrowful moment,
who denied HIM three times,
and who even betrayed HIM.
THE LONELINESS OF JESUS
is beyond my comprehension
as I sit here having my own pity party,
when I am the one who has chosen
to FOLLOW JESUS.
I could UNFOLLOW JESUS right now,
and because GOD is so GRACIOUS
HE would let me leave,
just as HE allowed EVE to eat the apple.
Oh how ridiculous I can get
when I get trapped inside myself,
forgetting WHOSE I AM.
For I gave up myself long ago
which was the best choice of my life
because I exchanged my life for HIS~
“If anyone wants to be a follower of MINE, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow ME. For anyone who keeps his life for himself shall lose it; and anyone who loses his life for ME shall find it again.26 What profit is there if you gain the whole world—and lose eternal life? What can be compared with the value of eternal life?" (Matthew 16 24-26).
Oh GOD did it again, as HE always does.
HE shows up in my LONELY still moments
as HE surprises me
with more of HIMSELF
as I experience HIM all around me~
whether it is
through a smile
through a sunrise & a sunset
or even through a pity party,
but most of all
through
a heart that becomes so full with HIM
that there is no room for LONELY.
So if you ever feel LONELY
let's do it together by
keep
BELIEVING BIG &
FOLLOWING JESUS
because
HE is
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
Just LOOK UP
for
"The LORD your GOD is among you; HE is mighty to save. HE will rejoice over you with gladness; HE will quiet you with HIS love; HE will rejoice over you with singing"
(Zephaniah 3:17).
Therefore
we can all say with confidence~
