Day 16: Peaceful Past

2020 is here 2019 is gone.

"FORGET the former things; Do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah 43:18)

Dwelling on

Fixating on

THE PAST

inhibits you from living in the present & facing the future.

Isn’t the future

the unknowns of tomorrow & the “what ifs”

that we fear?

THE PAST

encompasses anything that happens from this second back

to the day you were born.

But how do we FORGET something that we did or someone else did?

TO FORGET~

To Remember NOT.

To Keep Regurgitating NOT.

To keep picking off the scab of a bruise NOT.

Yet

THE PAST

has become a part of you & I as it happened.

Dwelling on yesterday

& the day before that

& the day before that

is like going up a down escalator

as it keeps you in the same place.

You & I can't remove our PAST.

Is there something from the PAST that is weighing you down?

Is it~

A wounded heart?

A I wish I didn't do this or that?

A I wish they didn't do this or that?

What do you need to say goodbye to that is following you everywhere

infecting the present

because you just can't let go?

Life is made up of a series of goodbyes

but the goodbyes are always followed by a hello—

a Hello to a NEWNESS~

because of a

FORGIVEN & HEALED PAST~

"Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." (Isaiah 43:19).

Because of the

ONE

who came to

"Heal the brokenhearted"(Luke 4:18)~

So when you & I look back to

THE PAST

with

JESUS

it doesn't crush us to a point of deep despair

that keeps us stuck from PRESSING FORWARD in the present

on our way to our future.

Let's welcome 2020

by

FASTING

from

THE PAST

by

placing it into

JESUS' HANDS

so we can experience

every NEW Moment with a

NEW PEACE

NEW JOY

NEW HOPE

because

HE has our

Yesterdays, Todays & Tomorrows

IN HIS HANDS.

Therefore

"JUST BE HELD" (listen to the song below)
