Oh the ARROWS continue to fly,
but when you own them as your own
you wear them like a garment.
For when I PUT ON ANXIETY~
I will be anxious.
When I PUT ON FEAR~
I will be fearful.
When I PUT ON DESPAIR~
I will be hopeless.
When you PUT ON ________ what will you be?
To PUT ON~
"to make part of one's appearance or behavior" (Webster)
To PUT ON~
to wear like a garment.
But
what if you removed them,
disrobing them from you being
by
PUTTING OFF
so that they are
NO LONGER AN OPTION IN JESUS.
When I
PUT ON PEACE~
you will PUT OFF anxiety.
When I
PUT ON FAITH~
I will PUT OFF Fear.
When I
PUT ON HOPE~
I will PUT OFF despair.
Now what?
PUT INTO PRACTICE~
PRESSING FORWARD wearing your new clothes,
whether you or I feel it or not!
PRESS FORWARD in JOY
when discouragement overcomes my soul.
PRESS FORWARD in PEACE
when anxiety ruffles my feathers.
PRESS FORWARD in PATIENCE
when discontent in the waiting.
PRESS FORWARD in KINDNESS & GOODNESS
when selfishness keeps me in my own world.
PRESS FORWARD in FAITHFULNESS
when distrust leaves me isolated.
PRESS FORWARD in MEEKNESS
when pride keeps me puffed up.
PRESS FORWARD in SELF`CONTROL
when the rebellious child in me starts to emerges.
PRESS FORWARD in LOVE~
IN HIS LOVE
that lives within me~
because whatever I wear on the inside
will be produced on the outside~
HIS FRUIT
that
enables me to
PRESS FORWARD IN PEACE~
"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.
And the GOD OF PEACE will be with you" (PHILIPPIANS 4:9)
On when we wear JESUS like a garment
HE becomes the only garment that we only want to wear.
So let's continue to exchange
the ARROWS that robe us in
RAGS
and
PUT ON JESUS~
To wear HIM,
To clothe ourselves with HIM like a garment
as HE robes us in
HIS RICHES
that enables us to
PRESS FORWARD
making
