Day 14: Welcome Home

He left.

And his FATHER said goodbye,

but the goodby wasn't forever

for THE FATHER knew that

he would return one day.

You know the story,

as it is entitled

THE PRODIGAL SON,

that is about HIS son

who squandered his inheritance

and ended up in a pig pen

craving the same food that the pigs ate.

It is such a sad story

because

THE FATHER knew that his son was headed the wrong way,

yet THE FATHER let him go,

because that is LOVE does.

I bet THE FATHER prayed every day.

I bet THE FATHER'S heart beat hurt every second.

I bet THE FATHER woke up every morning

and looked out onto the dirt road

just ready to embrace his son.

For THE FATHER was so ready to welcome him home.

Our FATHER.

Our ABBA FATHER

who birthed us into the world.

Our FATHER who LOVES like no other~

"THE LORD is compassionate and merciful,

slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.

HE will not constantly accuse us,

nor remain angry forever.

HE does not punish us for all our sins;

HE does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.

For HIS unfailing love toward those who fear HIM

is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.

HE has removed our sins as far from us

as the east is from the west.

THE LORD is like a FATHER to HIS children,

tender and compassionate to those who fear HIM" (Psalm 103:8-13)

Who can DENY THE FATHER whose arms are opened wide

awaiting for ALL HIS CHILDREN to return~

without question

as HE waits

with

JESUS

who has the word

COME written on HIS ROBE

that HE will put on

every one of HIS CHILDREN

who answer HIS call,

with no questions asked.

"For everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved” (Romans 10:13)

Aren't we all PRODIGALS who choose our own way because we don't embrace

GOD'S LOVE fully by TRUSTING HIM fully

even though HIS actions speak louder than words~

But while he was still a long way off, his FATHER saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to HIS son, threw HIS arms around him and kissed him" (Luke 15:20).

Our FATHER.

Our GOOD FATHER

who LOVES shouting the words

WELCOME HOME CHILD

to one and all

because that is

"WHAT MY FATHER DOES"

(listen to the song below)
