The DOOR is shut.
You want to OPEN it,
but there is a sign with the word
WAIT!
You look to the left. You look to the right.
You wonder if this sign is for you or for someone else.
So what do you do?
You take the chance and OPEN the door.
And there is GOD
holding the same sign with the word
WAIT!
Ugh.
You are tired of
WAITING on GOD
because you feel like you are giving up,
because WAITING feels like you at a
STANDSTILL~
"a situation or condition in which there is no movement or activity at all" (Oxford).
So do you STAND STILL and WAIT outside the DOOR until
GOD replaces the WAIT sign with an
OPEN sign?
Tick. Tick. Tick.
You WAIT.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
Your life is passing you by.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
You are losing your JOY.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
You are feeling HOPELESS.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
You fall asleep.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
You are awaken by a tap on your shoulder.
It is GOD.
HE is holding a sign with the words
"TRUST ME".
You are confused because you thought
HE was behind the DOOR
holding the WAIT sign.
You feel another tap on your other shoulder.
It is JESUS.
HE is holding another sign with the words
"COME TO ME".
You are at a STANDSTILL once again,
because you are so focused on
WAITING for THE DOOR to OPEN,
that you left out
GOD and JESUS.
But there THEY are.
THEY aren't sleeping on the job.
THEY haven't forgotten you.
THEY have heard your prayer.
THEY are with you.
JOY returns to your soul
because JOY is standing right in front of the DOOR
and your eyes are now
FIXED ON HIM.
JOY is in the WAIT
because
JOY IS JESUS.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
"Rejoice always and delight in your faith..."
Tick. Tick. Tick.
"...be unceasing and persistent in prayer;
in every situation [no matter what the circumstances]..."
Tick. Tick. Tick.
"...be thankful and continually give thanks to GOD;
for this is the will of GOD for you in CHRIST JESUS"
(I Thessalonians 5:16-18).
What you didn't realize is that you
missed the small print
written on the WAIT sign~
"Wait for and confidently expect the LORD;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for and confidently expect the LORD"
(Psalm 27: 14)
WAITING ISN'T A SPECTATOR SPORT.
Therefore,
BE WAITLESS
and
MOVE FORWARD IN THE MIDDLE OF WAIT
because
"Those who WAIT with hope in the LORD will be renewed.
They
will
SOAR..."
(Isaiah 40:31, listen to the song SOAR below)
