LIFE IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL!
As I thought about these words
I believe the opposite
that
LIFE IS A DRESS REHEARSAL.
Think about it.
DRESS REHEARSAL is defined as
PRACTICE~
"Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the GOD of peace will be with you" (Philippians 4:9)
And as a
TRIAL RUN~
"Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the LORD has promised to those who love HIM" (James 1:12)
or as
Merriam~Webster defines it~
"the final rehearsal of a live show,
in which everything is done as it would be in a real performance"
Hmm.
So maybe, just maybe
LIFE IS A DRESS REHEARSAL
because there is so much more
beyond what our eyes can see
in the here and now
as
the here and now is not the
real performance
because~
"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a SAVIOR from there, the LORD JESUS CHRIST, who, by the power that enables HIM to bring everything under HIS control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like HIS glorious body" (Philippians 3:20-21)
Therefore
let's make this the best
DRESS REHEARSAL
and
"Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
fixing our eyes on JESUS, the pioneer and perfecter of faith" (Hebrews 12:1-2)
So we can
Enjoy the REAL SHOW~
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 2:7)
