Day 12: The Love of Relationships

 My hubby and I have traveled back to the campus,

where we began our marriage.

Just two "little kids" going to grad school.

And then GOD gave us a GIFT, 

a BLESSING from above,

our daughter.

Our daughter, who my hubby would ake her everywhere,

even to class.

For we were just "two little kids" in LOVE, and now in LOVE with our child.

Now I say "kids", because as I look back to 41 years ago,

that is what our age said we were.

But it feels like yesterday.

The vivid memories.

The living in married student housing.

The building of our cinderblock shelf,

with the milk cartoons to hold our books.

My hubby pursing his Ph.d, as I was pursing my Masters.

My hubby managing a pizza chain,

while he was a student, a husband, and a father.

And it appeared to be easy,

because we were just a couple of kids doing life together.

Why are we here again?

Because my man was asked to be part of a program at our University,

 for where he will share his story,

to students in various classes.

As they chose him, because of his humility.

And if you know him,

 you know that he is not only a man of humility, but of integrity.

He is a man who serves from his heart,

wherever he is placed on the globe.

From spinning pizzas to talking about subs ,

to just meeting someone for an ice tea.

What will he be sharing?

What means most to him.

Success in business. Not really.

Success as a student. Not really.

But RELATIONSHIPS.

The relationshps that shaped him and made him who he is today.

Who would he be?

 Who would I be?

Who would you be without RELATIONSHIPS?

We wouldn't be.

He cares about what GOD cares about.

People. All people.

So as he is still sleeping on this early morn, tears drip from my being,

as I picture him visiting me in the hospital after I gave birth to our daughter.

A very late night visit, after working all night in the pizza place.

He shows up wearing his uniform,

and bringing hot breadsticks to dip into nacho cheese sauce,

for this new mama and for all the nurses.

And that is who my man is.

So here we are back on campus, with memories flooding from my heart and my mind,

because GOD had a plan for our life, and HE brought us here.

And then GOD brought us somewhere else.

And then GOD brought us somewhere else.

And them GOD brought us somewhere else.

I could keep going on and on, because GOD never stops bringing

you and me and everyone to somewhere else..

And somewhere else is the next second,

because you have never been in this second before.

I love this second,

 because GOD has BLESSED me with this second.

Tick. Tick. Tick.

The clock never stops.

So will you never stop

ticking where GOD places you,

to LOVE on people

and allowing people to LOVE on you.

For what is life really about?

RELATIONSHIPS.

For why would GOD create the first man and woman.

For why would GOD not get rid of the first man and woman

when they did what they were not supposed to do.

For why would GOD LOVE them anyway

and LOVE you and I anyway?

For that is what LOVE does.

LOVE never gives up,

because

what is GOD all about?

RELATIONSHIPS.

For GOD SO LOVES 

that

HE LOVED HIS SON to death on a CROSS,

so that HE could

RISE in ALL our hearts,

to have a RESTORED RELATIONSHIP

that was broken in the garden.

For GOD

 never GIVES up on those whom HE created and LOVES.

And that is EVERYONE. 

For GOD LOVES RELATIONSHIPS

so that HE gave us JESUS,

the most important RELATIONSHIP

that you will ever have.

What is life without JESUS? 

Not life.

So  

I THANK GOD

for

LOVING RELATIONSHIPS, 

just as my hubby and I do,

so much so

that ALL GOD WANTS

is to have

"A RELATIONSHIP"

with

EVERYONE!
