We are so mindful of wearing SUNSCREEN,
the higher the number the better.
Now if you know me I am not as mindful as I think SPF 4 is high,
I may be not so good in wearing SUNSCREEN
yet it got me thinking that
what it is more important to me
is WEARING THE SON.
HE is my PROTECTION
against the damaging effects of life
that come like arrows
piercing our hearts
unannounced.
What if I didn't WEAR THE SON,
would it matter if I wore a SPF of 30?
Now I am not downplaying SPF as it truly is important,
and I do lack in that department,
but don't we all lack in some department of LIFE.
GOOD at some things and not so good at those things that we know
we should be doing but don't do it.
Eating healthy ALL THE TIME.
Exercising ALL THE THE TIME.
Being POSITIVE ALL THE TIME,
Doing everything PERFECT ALL THE TIME,
Oh how I fail ALL THE TIME.
Yet the only thing where I don't FAIL is
WEARING JESUS ALL THE TIME,
HE covers my weakness and gives me STRENGTH.
HE covers my failings with HIS FORGIVENESS.
HE covers rejections with HIS ACCEPTANCE.
HE covers death with HIS LIFE.
Who would I be without WEARING JESUS?
A big old wrinkled up mess
on the outside and on the inside.
I do need to be better at wearing a higher SPF, maybe a 5,
but at least I don't SPF JESUS out of my life.
