Day 11: Your Legacy
I experienced
PEACE,
like I never thought I would,
in a place
where I was~
in a cemetery.
Even though cemeteries are
so very QUIET and SERENE,
I never experienced
PEACE
when I was visiting one
because
you are standing in the presence of DEATH.
This week my hubby and I went to visit
his parent's birthplace
and then went to the cemetery
where his grandparents are buried.
We were greeted
with
an old white church,
a stream,
and an expanse of green
sprinkled with
gravestones.
As we read the names,
searching for his grandparents,
a man on a tractor stopped to talk to my hubby.
He is the owner of the cemetery
and he knew where the grave was that we were seeking.
He knew each person who was buried there,
even though most were born and died before he was born.
He knew their NAMES,
And then we saw it.
His grandfather's name engraved.
His grandmother's name engraved.
And then
THE PEACE
that transcends all understanding washed
over our souls.
It became a JOYFUL place
as a reminder that HIS
grandparents were with the LORD.
Their LEGACY was standing before them,
living through my husband.
My hubby and I prayed over
THIS LEGACY,
to continue to live through
our children
and their children,
and my hubbies siblings
and their children
and their grandchildren.
What LEGACY?
There is only one LEGACY
that matters.
For what is a LEGACY
unless it is
THE LEGACY OF JESUS CHRIST~
"an inheritance that is imperishable,
undefiled,
and unfading, kept in heaven for you" *.
What is LIFE without JESUS?
DEATH!
What is LIFE with JESUS? DEATH to self, LIFE with JESUS.
My hubby and I
experienced
a
RENEWAL of our FAITH,
as GOD reminded us of our
GREAT INHERITANCE
that awaits
EVERYONE
who
LIVES IN CHRIST JESUS!
How did we leave with
JOY & PEACE?
Because we know that LIFE doesn't stop beyond the grave
because that is when your
REAL LIFE begins.
DEATH is the DOORWAY into ETERNITY.
For
LIFE is FOREVER,
and if you want to
LIVE FOREVER with CHRIST
then you need to
WALK THROUGH HIS OPEN DOOR
by FAITH
while you are still
LIVING in the here & now~
"Though you have not seen HIM, you love HIM; and though you do not even see HIM now, you believe and trust in HIM and you greatly rejoice and delight with inexpressible and glorious joy" * (I Peter 1).
Leave a
LEGACY of JESUS CHIST
by
LIVING THE LEGACY
in the here and now,
for a
LIFE without JESUS
is a DEAD life.
So thank you
Grandma and Grandpa Gwyn
for reminding us
about
LIVING LIFE that last beyond this LIFE,
when
THE LEGACY
is
"ONLY JESUS"
