Who are you? Who are you really?
If everything is stripped away
Who are you?
Think about it.
Who defines you? What defines you?
Oh it is a lonely place
to be left ALONE with yourself,
but when you get there
and you are left with you
you look up
and there HE is.
You look to the right
and there HE is.
You look to the left
and there HE is.
But is HE really enough for you?
There JESUS was.
All ALONE in the garden
while HIS loyal followers were keeping watch
and HE looked up~
, “My FATHER if it is possible, let this cup pass from ME; yet not as I will, but as YOU will”*
And then in HIS deepest moment of grief
HE went back to
HIS loyal followers
who were keeping watch,
but with both eyes closed~
“So, you men could not keep watch with ME for one hour? Keep watching and praying, so that you do not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak”*.
There HE was ALONE again
even though HIS followers were right there,
but
"HE went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “MY FATHER, if this cup cannot pass away unless I drink from it, YOUR will be done”
HE then went back to
HIS loyal followers
who were keeping watch,
but with both eyes closed~
"Again HE came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy"*
There HE was ALONE again
even though HIS followers were right there,
but JESUS
"...went away and prayed a third time, saying the same thing once more"*
HE then went back to HIS loyal followers
who were keeping watch,
but with both eyes closed~
"Then HE came to the disciples and said to them,
'Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand and the SON of MAN is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Get up, let’s go; behold, the one who is betraying ME is near!'” (Matthew 26:39-46)
One, Two, Three times~
ALONE again.
because
JESUS keeps going, keeps moving forward,
and now into the hands of HIS betrayer.
I ask you
Who are you? Who are you really?
If everything is stripped away

Oh it is a lonely place
to be left ALONE with yourself,

HE is
with HIS eyes wide opened
for you & for me & everyone else.
Oh
"to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of CHRIST, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of GOD" (Ephesian 3:18)
And then you will know
just as JESUS knew
that being ALONE is never being ALONE
because HIS LOVE never leaves
