Do you shy from being
VULNERABLE,
because what if you
SHOW UP
as your VULNERABLE self,
what will THEY say,
what will THEY do.
Is it worth the RISK of
being
VULNERABLE~
"the quality of being easily hurt or attacked, or the state of being open to injury" (Oxford Dictionary).
Who is your THEY?
I love being
VULNERABLE,
with GOD,
but I never used to be.
I BELIEVED that if I was VULNERABLE with GOD,
HE would hurt me,
HE would condemn me,
HE would tell me that I am not good enough,
and punish me.
YIKES!
So I AVOIDED GOD.
Pretty funny, as you can't really
AVOID GOD,
because wherever you are
HE is there.
Just ask ADAM and EVE
as they tried to hide behind a fig leaf.
Why do I LOVE being VULNERABLE with GOD?
It wasn't until HIS SON covered me with HIMSELF~
"For there is now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are IN CHRIST"*
NO means NO.
For GOD will not leave you or forsake you!
VULNERABILITY is the SWEET SPOT of FAITH.
When I SHOW UP with my morning brew to have a date with GOD,
I am quite VULNERABLE,
but a good VULNERABLE
as I open my heart and mind
to HIM,
and give HIM free reign.
I don't come afraid, fearing what HE has for me,
because GOD IS GOOD.
And a GOOD GOD
only
has GOOD for me
and for you,
for our own GOOD,
because HE will not CONDEMN.
But HE doesn't come alone,
for
the HOLY SPIRIT will CONVICT me
with CONVICTION.
Another SWEET SPOT of FAITH
because
for CONVICTION is GOOD,
as it is not CONDEMNATION.
VULNERABLE~ GOOD.
CONVICTION~ GOOD.
Yup.
ALL IN JESUS CHRIST!
For CONVICTION is GOD'S GRACIOUS way
to gently lead you along HIS PATH for you life.
HIS PATH that is paved with
PERFECT FORGIVENESS
and
PERFECT PEACE
because of
HIS PERFECT LOVE that is wrapped in
HIS PERFECT SON.
Will you take your next
60 SECONDS
and SHOW UP
as your VULNERABLE SELF
before GOD
and ask
HIM~
"Investigate my life, O GOD,
find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I’m about;See for YOURSELF whether I’ve done anything wrong—
then guide me on the road to eternal life"
(Psalm 139:23-24).
It doesn't it sound so inviting if
you are asking your enemy to
search your heart, mind, and soul
and give it to you straight,
does it?
But oh when you come before
GOD
and lay yourself bare,
it is the most beautiful place to be,
as GOD gently guides you deeper into
HIS HEART
to guide you,
to comfort you,
to heal you,
to FORGIVE you,
and
to LOVE you
like you never have been LOVED before.
And why?
"FOR THERE IS NOW NO CONDEMNATION IN THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS"
*(Romans 8:1).
So what are you going to in the next 60 SECONDS?
