Day 10: Weekend God

WEEKENDS.
A BREAK from the daily routine.
A BREAK from schedules.
A BREAK from doing the "have-to-do's"
by taking the time to do the "want-to-do's".
But what about taking
A BREAK FROM GOD?
Think about it.
Have you ever
taken A BREAK FROM GOD?
I know I have,
when
I FEEL GOD
gets tired of listening to me,
and
when I THINK GOD isn't listening to me,
so that I then take
A BREAK from
TRUSTING HIM
and
BELIEVING HIM
and
WAITING ON HIM,
because weariness gets the best of me
and
I am too tired to even try.
Sounds absurd even as I write this,
but have you ever taken a
BREAK FROM GOD?
Oh when I do,
THE BREAK BREAKS me,
because
LIFE WITHOUT GOD IS A LIFE WITHOUT.
And GOD never ceases to leave me alone,
as JESUS is always there
inviting me to take a
BREAK WITH HIM
Think about it.
Really think about it.
Does JESUS want
TO BE OR NOT TO BE WITH YOU?
Hmm.
I believe there is a place for you!
"Come to ME, _____________, (put your name)
Get away with ME, _____________,
and you’ll recover your life.
I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with ME, ______________,
and work with ME, _____________,
watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with ME, _________________,
and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly”
(Matthew 11:28-30).
For JESUS never takes a BREAK from being JESUS.
And GOD never takes a BREAK from being GOD.
For
GOD never sleeps, even when you are sleeping
For GOD doesn't take off weekends.
For GOD doesn't go on vacations.
Because
HIS pleasure and HIS delight
is
being with you.
GOD so LOVES being with us,
that HE sent JESUS to be with us.
Why would HE die for you,
if HE didn't want to be with you?
Are you weary?
Are you discouraged?
Are you feeling hopeless?
Are you feeling blah?
Now is the time to
take A BREAK WITH GOD
because
GOD never takes a BREAK from you~
"My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth!
HE will not let you stumble; the ONE who watches over you will not slumber"
((Psalm 12:2-4)
Therefore,
look up on this
Sunday morning,
to the ONE
who gifted you this morning,
and who is so excited to
spend it with you,
no matter if you FEEL like being with HIM or not.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE WITH GOD?
Should that even be a question,
because
"GOD IS WITH US"
(listen to the song below)
