What if you could be DIFFERENT?
So dramatically DIFFERENT
that you don't even feel like yourself,
because "your self" is
feeling & doing & being
someone else
who is way better than the you
who you thought you were.
Would it be
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?
Oh YES!
I never BELIEVED I could be
DIFFERENT
than who I BELIEVED I was.
I was ANXIOUS about everything.
I was AFRAID of my own shadow.
I FEARED the other shoe dropping.
I BELIEVED every cruel word that was said against me.
I LIVED stuck in a cocoon just wanting to be a butterfly,
yet never BELIEVED I could be.
So I strived to be DIFFERENT,
to be CHANGED
to not be my "self",
yet I always fell short
not only of my own expectations
but also of the expectations of others.
But then IT HAPPENED
because
HE HAPPENED.
JESUS took the me who I BELIEVED I was
out of my cocoon of
ANXIETY
FEAR
INSIGNIFICANCE
INSECURITY
&
REJECTION
and made me
DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT
with
HIS PEACE that transcends all understanding
&
HIS LOVE that drives out all fear.
All because
GOD didn't create me
&
GOD didn't create you
to stay the SAME,
because if we were all the
SAME then where would DIFFERENT be?
DIFFERENT is the BETTER
than you could ever imagine
and all it takes is to
SURRENDER
your whole self
to the ONE who takes you beyond
your self
so that you become so
DIFFERENT
that you never want to be the SAME again.
JESUS stands with HIS outstretched arms
with an invitation
to you, to me, to everyone~
“Take courage, it is I! Do not be afraid!”
(Matthew 14:27)
Oh when you take the
COURAGE to SURRENDER
your SAME self
you wish you hadn't wasted so much time in the past
dreaming about being
DIFFERENT
because
DIFFERENT
happens in an instant
that lasts beyond this lifetime~
“Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever, real and eternal" (John 12:24).
I have been called
DIFFERENT
and that is the best compliment that I will ever receive
because being
DIFFERENT IN HIM
is the only place where I ever want to be.
