ONCE UPON A TIME
We will see JESUS face to face.
I picture myself standing in a huge crowd with
everyone raising their hands screaming with excitement,
"PICK ME, PICK ME"
But I am hidden, as no one sees me.
People have trampled over me to get in the front of the line.
I have no voice, as I stand with slumped shoulders.
And then it happens in the midst of everyone's
PICK ME JESUS~
All those who now are faced with their eternal destiny.
And then HE
lifts HIS scared hands & points HIS finger.
“You mean me JESUS”
as everyone thinks it is them.
And HE says ~
I PICK YOU.
I slowly look up & start walking forward.
The crowd is silent as they are thinking~
"YOU picked HER. Don’t you now what she has done?"
But I keep walking forward
thinking
It was all worth it.
The times I was shunned because
I BELIEVED.
The times that I had to say no, when I so wanted to say yes.
The times when I had to face every icky thing that I have done, that covered me in shame.
The times when "it is not fair" was all that I experienced.
The times that I had to say I am sorry to those who I have hurt.
Those times that I sat alone with GOD because I had no where else to go.
It was worth it
"for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14)
To stand before JESUS and be picked
To be chosen to come into HIS kingdom.
It is me that HE sees
because I am covered IN HIM.
It is me who HE has always seen.
The me who still
has moments when I feel so ashamed to look up into HIS face
to RECEIVE all
who HE says I am
Because of those
ONCE UPON A TIME MOMENTS
when
I still do what I want to do, even though
HE SAID~
“Flee from temptation" (2 Timothy 2:22).
When I say what I feel I want to say, even though
HE SAID~
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out..." (Ephesians 4:29).
When I run away in fear even though
HE SAID~
“Don’t be afraid; just believe” (Mark 5:36)
When I feel so ashamed , even though
HE SAID~
“If we confess our sins, HE is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).
So I will stand one day & you will stand one day
IN HIS PRESENCE
And will see JESUS standing
With HIS HANDS opened wide
TO RECEIVE
The guilty
The shamed
The bitter
The fearful
The _________
&
Not because of the good we did
&
Not because of the better than he or she we did
But because
ONCE UPON A TIME
I heard the TRUTH & you heard the TRUTH~
"Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life" (John 5:24)
and BELIEVED & RECEIVED it.
Or maybe
You have never heard the TRUTH
or have heard it and don't
BELIEVE it.
But
either way
ONCE UPON A TIME
we will all stand before
GOD
and
when HE looks into your eyes
will
HE SEE JESUS
the one who
has
PICKED YOU
because
you
PICKED HIM~
"Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of JESUS "(Hebrews 10:19)
