DOUBLE DIPPING~
Keep going back to
the SAME thing
to try to change
the SAME thing
yet the SAME thing
always stays the
SAME thing~
because
the SAME thing
is you & I.
Now that was a mouthful
Think about it.
You want different.
You want others to change.
You want your circumstances to change.
You even want the weather to change.
And you try and strive.
Not to presume that you do, but I know that is what I do.
But you & I
do it in the way that we have always done it~
with
Frustration
Impatience & Bitterness
or with
Anxiety, Fear, & Despair.
But that doesn't stop us
as we continue to
Double Dip~
doing it and doing it
until we suddenly stop
for a moment and look in the mirror~
and there you are~
frustrated, impatient, bitter, anxious, fearful and despaired.
Hmm,
something has to change
&
the something is the someone who is
looking back at you in the mirror
who has no power to change
another
person, place or thing
or even yourself~
in the
SAME
way.
So you look up
&
there
HE is~
Looking right at you,
holding out
HIS arms
to little ole you and little ole me
and saying~
"Let me do it"~
but you wonder
Can I TRUST HIM?
Will HE REALLY do what HE says HE will do?
But
HE repeats HIMSELF
and you hear the words that aren't your words~
"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and HE will lift you up" (James 4:10)
And then you hear them again~
"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of
GOD [set aside self-righteous pride],
so that HE may exalt you [to a place of honor in HIS service] at the appropriate time,
casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries,
and all your concerns, once and for all] on HIM, for
HE cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]"
(I Peter 5:6-7)
And then you think
that
the SAME thing
that you have been doing
isn’t working
because
the SAME thing
is you & I,
so maybe just maybe
I need SOMEONE else to
do it for me.
So you
fall on your knees
&
there
HE IS
lifting you up and over
all that you are striving to change.
PEACE fills your soul
like never before
because
you can TRUST HIM
because
you can BELIEVE HIM.
Now humble you
gets up & puts one foot in front of the other~
because
you are no longer
THE SAME
because
you are no longer
DOUBLE DIPPING~

in the
SAME way that you have always done it
because
you heard it from the mouth
of the
One
who is doing for you what you could never do for yourself~
“Behold, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5)
