Ticking Forward

I just did the impossible~

started to clean the basement,

and if you have been to my house

you know about "the" basement.

If you want something, I am sure it is there.

Why was it so hard to tackle this daunting task?

The memories.

From my kids' baby clothes

to legos

to stuffed animals

to puffy painted shirts

to handprint pictures from school.

The memories

attached to each and every thing.

The memories

reminding me that

THAT WAS THEN & THIS IS NOW.

I now hear the ticking of the clock

reminding me

THAT WAS THEN & THIS IS NOW.

Oh how I would go back in a second to

be the mom of three little children,

as a smile appears on my face~

the joys & the laughter & the sweetness of a child.

O how I bet you would like to go back in a second to

when ______________.

But

THAT WAS THEN & THIS IS NOW.

A smile appears on my face now

as I am reminded that

I am still a Child.

I may not look like one,

but deep inside there she is

just wanting to play and sing and dance

all because~

"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called

children of God!" I John 3:1

David Dunn, song writer and singer says it best~

"When I was a kid, the only things that mattered were that

Jesus was ~ He existed ~ and that He loved me.

The rest of it didn't matter," he continues.

'I Wanna Go Back' (listen to the song below)

was very much a wishing to go back to the time

where I hadn't gotten so smart that I became stupid."

Even though

THAT WAS THEN & THIS IS NOW

as the ticking clock keeps moving forward

let's

Play & Sing & Dance~

and fix our eyes on the

One who never changes~

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." Hebrews 13:8

and Who simply loves us

so that

He can

Play & Sing & Dance

with us in the present

creating more sweet memories

that changes the ordinary into extraordinary.

I WANNA GO BACK (listen & watch below)
