Oh it is one of those mornings
where I am just sitting here
and being
still
and I don't like it.
I like the
stillness
but at the same time I don't.
All I can hear is the
stillness
but also the wind blowing
and the rain pelting
and the ringing in my ears.
stillness
one of those words
that sends shivers up some people's spine.
stillness
a choice to make
and sometimes it is a forced choice,
like what my husband has to do
as he recovers from his eye surgery.
To be so
still~
because he has no choice.
Forced Stillness~
not fun.
But maybe it really can be~
To just stop
and do nothing
just because that is what
God asks
in all things,
even when we are moving around~
Because
stillness
is a constant state of trust,
a knowing that
you and I are not in control
even if we think we are.
We do have free will to
choose or not to choose,
but what if
we are
still
in the midst of the choosing?
To
Submit to the One
who is in control.
To
Relinquish
to
Surrender
&
just be
Still
in each and every moment
with the
One
who
tells us to
"Cease Striving and know that I am God". Psalm 46:10
so that
Stillness
is always the end result
in all that we do or don't do.
Thank you my husband
for showing me that
Stillness
is a good thing,
even though this isn't the way you would have chosen to be
Still.
"Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is
no noise, trouble, or hard work.
Peace means to be in the midst of all those things
and still be calm in your heart.
That is the real meaning of peace." (Author Unknown)
